I am ready to start a sauce and meatballs for during the week. I feel like having meatball sandwiches for work this week I try to carry my lunch rather than buy junk or fast food. And one night we will have pasta with it also.

Mike is just putting a roast in the crock. It isn't a pot roast we have found that putting an oven roast in the crock, covering it and cooking it very slowly makes for great flavor. We have an electric slicer and after out dinner tonight Mike will slice it up for sandwiches.

So roast beef, mashed potatos with gravy and green beans for us today.

What are you cooking?

=shrug.. I'm afraid it's clean out leftovers night..

Stephen e-mailed us from Germany.. he made it safe and he even managed to send photos from the Disco club there.:grin Imagine that in the country 8 hours, and the school group went clubbing..:grin Oh to be 21 again!!.

.before he left I had made a meat loaf, and have leftover roasts etc.. for him to gnosh on..so it's time to make dribs, and drabs disappear.. I am a 3PM -3AM tomorrow..so I'll start fresh with stuff for Mark to eat tomorrow night while I work.

and we have 3 stores in town all having meat sale fights..mega meals planning!! That means Joanne ,and Mark go hit the "loss leaders" at all 3 stores, and stuff the freezer!!..:thumb.. later kiddo..Joanne.

Pork chops, sweet potatoes and acorn squash here tonight, I think.

Food shopping tomorrow to restock and get some meals prepped for the coming week. With dh's new job his commute is longer and he gets home much later so I am starting to do more stews, crock pot meals and casseroles for him to have ready when he gets home. Going to try to hit the Farmer's Market this week for end of season corn this week too.

Judy - The roast sounds good to me! I'll be over and I'll bring something nice for dessert.

Joanne - Isn't it great when the big meat sales are going on? I love filling the freezer with great deals. Hope you get some great deals.

I wish I had room for a freezer I just don't. Well I have been thinking about getting rid of the liquor cabinet that sits full but we don't drink much....so maybe I'll just toss it all and put a freezer in its place. Right now I can only buy what will fit in my fridge freezer. Sounds like a plan Cutie on the stock up.

Meg come on over......I love dessert. I love all desserts in fact!

I bought a 10 lb bag of chicken wings yesterday so I have to make Buffalo Wings and Thai Peanut Wings and some other kind of wings that freeze well.

Left over beef stew. Paw made a big beef stew on Wed. My neighbor from across street just came bringing a basket of muffins. Believe they are part corn with cheese and jalopena. So nice to meet neighber after almost two years. The muffins will be good with the stew.

We are having steak, baked potato and salad. We haven't had that in a long time. I wish the stores around here would have meat price competitions :D.

This will show my age but does anyone remember the gas wars of the '70's?

Cornish game hens made in electric skillet with carrots, rice, onions, celery and mushrooms. One of our very favorites. It is a weight watchers receipe but it is so very delicious

Well, since I've been playing around here in cyberspace all morning instead of cooking, I had sausage and eggs for breakfast and it's off to work in a while. when I get home at 9 PM tonight I'll probably make myself a balogna sandwich. LOL Hits the spot every time. And I'll top it off with my favorite ice cream. Hey, sometimes you just need a little comfort food. :thumb

Hugs, Mari

Breakfast is our big fancy meal on Sundays.....then later, we will have something that's easy for me to make. This afternoon it was burgers cooked on the grill w/baked potato.

I bought some locally grown apples that are so crisp and yummy that it will more than suffice for dessert tonite.
