S7s,
The first voyage with real paying passengers is August 3, Harwich to Copenhagen, with stops throughout the Baltic. We'll come on board on the 15th in Copenhagen for voyage #2.

I have read on other sites that Oosterdam will be in in the Netherlands (Amsterdam, not sure) in late July for her "name-giving" ceremony prior to leaving for Harwich.

Thanks olderpilot. Now that you mention her going to the Netherlands, I seem to remember reading that she and Rotterdam will be together in Rotterdam for her naming??? That will be a beautiful sight ...I think I read the plan is to dock them bow to bow. There sure will be some fun parties that day/night.

Yes, it will be a great day for the Dutch! We have our fingers crossed that her sea trials go well. Since the inaugural was postponed 24 days from the initial plan, hopefully, all will be well.

We are looking forward to this trip -special plans from St. Petersburg to London!

We were fortunate to be on Rotterdam when she returned to Rotterdam for the first time in many, many years. (I think it was HAL's 125th Anniversary year). HAL held the ship in Rotterdam for several days of lunches, teas, cocktails, dinners....parties. We had stayed on in Rotterdam to visit with some friends and enjoy some time in Holland and could see the ship lit up in the evenings when we were out and about.

Before we disembarked, we watched the shore people they brought aboard decorate Lido pool and the work they did was magnificent ..including a huge ice sculpture of the original HAL headquarters building in Rotterdam...where the ship was docked. These talented folks built a Dutch flower garden complete with windmills. So beautiful. We still treasure the photos we snapped.

They brought some huge number like 8,000 people on and off the ship while she was there. I have no doubt everyone had a great time.....and it will probably be repeated this summer. Lucky You!! Enjoy.
