1) The Elation has no cruises schedule for February 2010. Is it going to get the waterworks added at that time?

2) The Elation has not cruises schedule after May 2010. Where is it going? The Spirit will do the San Diego to Cabo run when it returns from Alaska. So, where is the Elation going to be?

Well, it turns out that in February it is going to be a floating hotel in Vancouver for the Winter Olympics. As for the ship, the Elation was built in 1998. The Holiday was built in 1985. If the Elation was going to dry dock, it would only be out of service for three weeks. The Elation no listed schedule for the last eight months of 2010.

Cruizer....where did you get the information about the Elation being a hotel? We just got off the Elation on May 28th. I'd love to read more about it. Thanks!!

There are several stories about the NCL Star being used as a floating hotel. However, not too many about three Carnival Ships. Here is one ...

It might be because the Star will be available to the general public while the Elation will not be. Here is another story about the Elation at the Olympics (you have to scroll down, it is the third story) ...

It looks like all three Carnival ships (the Elation and two HAL ships) will be used to house the local security force ...

There's speculation [and that's all there is at present] the "Elation" will move to San Francisco. About a week ago, city officials took the first step in upgrading the city's cruise piers

Manborn, I believe the Elation is newer than the Holiday, but is still approximately 8-10 years old. If you look at seauonboard.com they have the years listed for each ship. Don't get me wrong, it was a nice ship. I just wasn't thrilled with the food or service.

The Holiday entered service in 1985. The Elation entered service in 1998.
