I am thinking of doing a cruise out of Fort Lauderdale next year and was wondering if anyone could suggest a nice place to stay for a 1 night pre-cruise stay? Thanks

We have stayed many time both pre and post cruise at the Embassy Suites on 17th Street.

They have a manager's cocktail hour and free full breakfast.

There is also a gym.

The Embassy Suites has a new restaurant -- E-Spot -- it is really great.

The Harnor Shops are close by -- short walking distance that has lots of shops and restaurants. Many people go to Total Wine and pick up wine there to take on the ship. Also there is a Publix there -- pick up anything you may have forgotten to pack.

Might have to try Embassy Suites as it sounds like I might like their restaurant. :D

If you are looking for a cheap but nice place to stay. There is the Comfort Inn on Sterling road , There is a free breakfast in the morning, and free shuttle to the port and they will pick you at the airport at no cost.
There is a shopping center near by and lots of fast food stores near by.

We recomend The Comfort Suites at 1800 s. Federal Hwy, Ft lauderdalte. The number there is 954-767-8700.It is only 2 miles to the port and you can see the ships from your window, if you get above the 3rd floor.Be sure to request a room on this side of the hotel. We will be staying there Oct 23 when we catch the Eurodam. The place is usually filled with fellow crusers. There are a lot of places to eat in walking distance and they serve a free breakfast. Tip, there are several comfort Inns/Suites in Ft Lauderdale so be sure and check the location.Enjoy your cruise!

Rentlady! first off welcome aboard!! I have stayed at the Comfort inn on Sterling road 2 times. It is very affordable and a nice shopping center near by. The reason this time I am not staying there is because I want a hotel on the beach.

We have stay at Embassy Suites many times over the years in many cities. Enjoyed it every time. However, lately when we cruise out of Ft Lauderdale or Miami we look for a 3 or 4 star hotel on hotwire or priceline and never regretted the price to combinations

Keep an eye on Hyatt Place.......after Einstein's recommendation, we did and found a great price and a very comfortable stay with breakfast right next to a mall with the biggest liquor store we've ever seen! (Canajens are easily impressed by the size of American ones and their prices :) )

We are partial to the Renissance Hotel on 17th. Literally across the street from the port.

It can be a bit pricey at certain time of the year, but have had great luck getting it on Priceline.

Do any of these Ft. Lauderdale hotels offer parking during the cruise?

Embassy Suites (where I usually stay), mentioned in several posts above, has offered parking in the past. I would suggest you contact them or check their website to be sure.

I have stayed at both the Renaissance and the Hyatt Place. Both were nice with an edge to the Renaissance as it has a nicer pool and a bar. The Hyatt Place offers a free shuttle and breakfast. I'm not sure about parking as we have always flown in to Fort Lauderdale. I have gotten the Renaissance thru Hotwire and Priceline and the Hyatt Place thru Valuetrips.

We also like the Embassy Suites great location with all the benefits mention in the above posts. The following convients are in walking distance to the hotel: a water taxi, a liquor & wine, a mini shopping mall, several drugs stores and a grocery store are near

We have had free parking in past years at Hyatt Place. We have been happy with it. Shuttle from airport and to the port also.

The Hyatt Place does charge for parking during the cruise, $12 a day, I believe.

I got a great rate on this hotel for my pre-cruise stay in January. $89/night via Hotwire. Check out betterbidding.com for help on bidding Hotwire hotels. The offer free shuttles from the airport, to the port, and free breakfast. I am looking forward to my stay.
