If you wanted to go on the London Eye and take one of those touristy-red tour busses in London, in which area would you get a hotel? There are so many areas that I can't figure out which one to go with - Kensington, Mayfair, Knightsbridge, etc.!

Thanks for the help! :)

You can get those tour buses all over town...and they'll take you to the London Eye and all the other sites from all over...

We stayed in the Paddington Area--recommended to us because of its proximity to lots of sites and to the Paddington Station--which is a major transportation hub...Also, it is a fairly nice part of town...

We stayed at the Best Western Paddington Court...
My parents are cruising the Baltic next month and we booked them into the Hilton Metropole, also near Paddington Station...

Mayfair is the district with most of the "action", but it is also the most costly. You may want to check out the Hilton Garden hotel, its right on Shepherd's Mews and a "backdoor" walk to the palace, etc.

also, depends on what day of the week you are there, weekends you may want to hit Covent Garden. Also, the Tower is a long way from everything else, but the London black cabs are well worth every penny!
