which cruise out of seattle?

Which cruise…

So I’ve gotten it down to a HAL Alaska cruise out of Seattle in June. I have a bit of flexibility in my dates. So that means that I can go we a cruise that is on the Oosterdam or the Rotterdam. I’m wondering if anyone has thoughts on which one?

Thanks!

You need to check the itineraries -- what glacier do you like better? Hubbard or Glacier?

How much time do you have in each of the ports?

What kind of activities do you like to do?

I looked at both itineraries -- for me -- arriving at Juneau at Noon on the Amsterdam is bad. But on the other hand Hubbard Glacier we have found to be much bluer in color.

On the other hand -- Glacier Bay is also great -- and it is a full day as much make the approach.

Tough decision -- but if I had to choose -- it would be the Oosterdam.

this will be my first Alaskan cruise. So i'm not even sure what to look for really. I'm traveling solo with my 7 year old. So i wanted family friendly and out of Seattle, but other than that i was really kind of not sure what to go with.

I don't know anyone who has done an Alaskan cruise, so my friends haven't been very helpful.

Maura,

Since you are cruising with your 7 year old, have you checked into children's programs on the various ships? That could be an important consideration if your child enjoys taking part in children's activies independent of you.

The Oosterdam attracks more families. Thus Club HAL will be busier.

The Rotterdam attracks more older people.
