MSC Cruises Has Just Posted the Following:

MSC Cruises has developed nine different itineraries for Christmas 2008, including trips to the western and eastern Mediterranean, Atlantic Ocean, Indian Ocean, and Caribbean Sea.
MEDITERRANEAN SEA
MSC Fantasia
A fabulous flagship for a special Christmas. MSC Fantasia will be christened on 18 December in Naples, and its inaugural journey will coincide with the Christmas cruise. Depart from Genoa on Saturday, 20 December for an 8-night cruise to Greece and Egypt. After two days of sailing the first stop will be the splendid island of Rhodes, famous for its lively atmosphere and particularly lush vegetation. The cruise will then continue to Alexandria, Egypt, an ideal point of departure for excursions to explore the Pyramids, the Sphinx, and all other world-famous ancient ruins. Next destinations: Messina, with the splendid Greek theatre of Taormina, and Naples, where guests can explore the beautiful historic centre or take a trip to Capri or Pompeii.
MSC Poesia
Departure from Genoa on Thursday, 18 December (it's also possible to board at Civitavecchia on 17 December and disembark at Naples on 28 December) for an 11-night cruise exploring Greece, Egypt, Cyprus, Turkey and Crete. The first stop will be in Katakolon to visit the perfectly-preserved archaeological site of Olympia. The following destinations will be Athens, for a guided tour of the city and an excursion to the splendid Acropolis museum, and the Island of Rhodes for a morning stroll through its fascinating, narrow streets. The cruise will then continue on to Alexandria, Egypt, where guests can choose between visiting the Valley of the Kings or Cairo and its famous Egyptian Museum. After stopping in Limassol, on the island of Cyprus, and Marmaris in Turkey, the ship will reach Iraklion, on the Island of Crete, where guests can discover the legendary Knossos Palace built for King Minos. The final stop will be in Naples, with its unique and beautiful gulf.
MSC Lirica
Departure from Fort Lauderdale on Saturday, 20 December for a 7-night cruise headed towards Cayo Levantado where guests can relax on splendid beaches or explore the forest of the peninsula's interior. The cruise will then continue to Road Town on Tortola, Philipsburg on the island of St. Martin and Nassau, in the Bahamas, where guests can admire the extraordinary natural beauty of beaches, tall palm trees, tropical fruit of every variety and special types of fish.
SOUTH AMERICA
MSC Musica
Departure from Santos on Friday, 19 December for a 7-night cruise exploring the most famous places in Brazil. The first stop will be in Buzios, for an unforgettable excursion to Tortuga Beach. The ship will then sail to Salvador de Bahia, where guests can admire the artistic remains of the Baroque era. More carioca fun follows with two stops in Maceio and Ilheus.
MSC Opera
There's still so much sea to see! Departure on Sunday, 21 December for six days in the renowned seaside resorts of Brazil. The cruise will stop in Porto Belo, Ilhabela, Buzios and Ilha Grande for white beaches, crystal seas, and pristine nature.
MSC Sinfonia
The ship will leave from Rio de Janeiro on Thursday, 18 December for an 8-night cruise through Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay. After two days of sailing, the first stop will be cosmopolitan Buenos Aires where guests can visit Plaza de Mayo, the Casa Rosada and the picturesque Boca district. The cruise will then continue to Punta del Este, known as the Portofino of South America. The final stop will be the Brazilian island of Ilhabela.
MSC Armonia
Departure from Buenos Aires on Saturday, 20 December for an 8-night cruise through Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina. After stopping at Ilha Grande, the ship will reach marvellous Rio de Janeiro where guests can admire Sugarloaf Mountain and the famous Sambadrome, the venue for the yearly Carnival Parade. On the way back, the ship will stop at Ilhabela and Punta del Este where guests can relax on marvellous beaches.
INDIAN OCEAN
MSC Rhapsody
Departure from the port of Durban on Tuesday, 16 December for an unforgettable 11-night voyage through the marvels of South Africa, Madagascar and Mauritius. Stops will be made in Fort Dauphin, to discover the luxuriant flora of Madagascar, and at Port Louis where guests can visit the most elegant and renowned beaches of the Mauritius Islands.
OCEAN CROSSING
MSC Orchestra
A 17-night transatlantic cruise between the Mediterranean and Caribbean. Departure from Genoa on Tuesday, 16 December, stopping first in Marseilles for a tour of the historic centre or the Palais des Papes in Avignon. The cruise will then continue to Barcelona where guests can spend an entire day wandering through the Gothic Barrio and visit Gaudì's Sagrada Familia. Next destination: the lively souk of Casablanca. Before reaching the Atlantic Ocean, the ship will stop at Funchal on the island's striking panoramas and fishermen's villages. After five days of sailing, the ship will reach the Caribbean Sea. The first two stops will be Pointe-à-Pitre on the island of Guadeloupe and St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands. The cruise will then continue on to Puerto Rico, with its 16th century city of San Juan, and end in Fort Lauderdale, close to the night life of Miami.
