We have made reservations for the Winifred Daysail in St. Thomas. Has anyone ever been on it and can give me a review of it? Thanks!

Found this review for you of Winifred Daysail. Here's the cut and paste version.

We booked the day sail on the internet (www.sailwinifred.com) . There was one other couple and the captain (Sharon) and the first mate (Allyson). It spit rain as we left the harbor but it was of no consequence. From then on it was wonderful sailing (with full sails) to St. John. What a great boat and such a personal excursion. We moored off St. John for snorkeling and beach combing. Allyson & Sharon were such gracious hosts. Saw giant turtles, rays and beautiful parrot fish. We were treated to a nice lunch on-board and then had a leisurely sail back to Red Hook. I couldn’t imagine a more perfect day!!! I highly recommend the Winifred.

We've booked on the Winifred for May 28th. We'll be on the Grand Princess. Check out the photo gallery for some pictures from previous trips.

From all we've heard and read, it should be a fabulous trip. With a max. of 6 passengers, what a great way to get away from the hustle and bustle of St. Thomas.

We can't wait!

I couldn't find anything that talked about how much this costs. Can you give me an idea?

$120 per person, $100 if you pay cash the day of the trip. You need to give her a credit card number to hold your space but she doesn't run the card. Check out www.sailwinifred.com for complete details and pictures.

Kathy, I will be sailing her on June4th...just a few days after you! Hope you have a great time. I loved what I saw of her on the web site. After a day in San Juan, a beach day in St.Martin...several hours on a "private" boat with no more than 5 others will sure be a treat. I can't wait!

Their web site was helpful, except for not finding the prices and now that you have posted them, I can see why they don't have them on the web, WOW. They seem pretty expensive to me, even considering what looks to be the high quality of the service. But, I'd bet you wouldn't say, after the excursion, "boy that was a waste of money". They would be perfect for me if they offered scuba too.

Bluefish...I understand completely. when I first checked the prices I thought...nope. Can't do it. But then I checked three others and they were the same or MORE!
Then, when I considered only 6 folks, (possibly less) ..breakfast , full lunch and an all day OPEN BAR...I decided to go for it. if you have a child with your group it's $90 cash for them. I decided to surprise my DH and not tell him till we arrive at Red Hook! :grin

We sailed on the Winifred May 12th while being at port from cruising on the Destiny. It was such a great trip and the highlight of our cruise! I highly recommend it to everyone!

We just returned yesterday from the Grand and I can't say enough good things about our sail on the Winifred. Capt. Sharon and First Mate Alison do an incredible job and it is the most relaxing and enjoyable excursion I have ever taken. With a max. of 6 people (we met 2 other couples from the Zuiderdam). We saw other boats and catamarans used by the cruise lines that were out when we were heading back - packed with people, barely room to move around. We were SO happy we had chosen the Winifred. We talked to others who paid $75-$125 for a similar package on larger crafts with more people, that didn't include any breakfast, lunch or drinks. We had a continental breakfast, full lunch served on china and an open bar.

I can guarantee you won't be disappointed if you book this trip. I never liked St. Thomas but now I can't wait to go back.

We sailed the Winifred last Feb, and it was a fabulous way to spend the day. Capt Sharon and First Mate Alison were great hosts. The day sail is so relaxing, and the snorkeling was great. We were by a small private beach where everyone went to sit for awhile. On the sail back Capt.Sharon took us past some of the other beaches on St John. It was really very enjoyable.
