Well why am I dancing? The snow storm got sucked dry as it went over the mountains and we will only get about an inch later today! So I'm :dance :dance :dance about that! They were telling us last night to get ready for a bad commute this morning. Still very cold here though but I'll take the cold without the snow!!!!!
And it has been a long week. I'm trying to train to do another job and the girl supposed to be training me isn't. She is so afraid somone will learn to do the same things as her and then she won't be the star. So I'm plugging through it on my own and frustrated but getting there. So Friday..........sounds really good to me. :dance :dance :dance!
OK so yesterday five minutes before 11am a director came to me and said Judy we are all going to lunch and you are invited if you can make it. OK I figured everyone was going to lunch and I had no interest, I was busy and still felt lousy because of my little medical things the day before. And to be honest there are some I prefer not to break bread with! I was never told this was a requirement or planned by management. And this restaurant costs about 35.00 a meal. I had no intention of spending that on lunch.
So I am sitting there and my boss comes out and 3 of us are sitting there. Why aren't you getting ready to go to lunch she said? I said what lunch I need to finish this contract. Well the limo is waiting outside to take you to lunch? Huh???????? Get yourself ready and get out there she said? I am clueless still truly clueless. So then the other two witches say we aren't going. So they get yanked into the GM's office. I am directed to go to the limo? So I put my coat on and go outside only to have the limo pull away. OK now I am really ticked off! First of all everyone except 2 of us knew about this lunch for days, I was told later. and then I'm ordered to the curb and the limo pulls out without me. I felt as though I'd been slapped in the face twice. So I go back into work. I was very ticked! :X
So as soon as the other two are released from the GM's office I march in and say what the #$%^ is going on? I was invited as an afterthought to a lunch, and then when ordered to the curb the limo pulls away? He says Judy it was an Admin appreciation lunch. I said good so I was told five minutes before so I guess that is the level of appreciation you have for me. And then I'm left standing at the curb. He apologized. I said ya know if you want me to play by the rules please tell me what the rules are or leave me alone to my peanut butter sandwich. He offered to drive me and I said No Thank You. I learned later I was supposed to be invited earlier in the day but wasn't. arrrrrggggggggg
Then I hear that the reason the other two refused to go is because it was supposed to be a quiet lunch of appreciation for the three star teacher's pet admins., and when others heard about it they complained and said I thought we are a team and you choose to recognize 3 out of 9 of us? So management extended the lunch to all admins not just the 3, two got angry and refused to go. And me, I sit there clueless as to what the heck is going on around me. :lol There were apologies from my boss and the funeral director who didn't give me clear information and the GM. It was just a lousy feeling. But very typical for this place. They are totally without clue about organization and managing people. I went to the bank and made the company deposit and ignored everyone for the afternoon. So that was my day yesterday can you see why Friday is so needed???? :lol
Once I heard the whole story I was glad I didn't go. Maybe this taught them a lesson that they need to get the dust on their management hats polished off because this turned into a debacle!
OK so that is it for my morning rant. It is a new day and there is no snowy lousy commute! Yahhhhhhoooooooo.
