First time Cruiser here. Thinking about taking this escurion when our ship stops at this port. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Is it worth it, how long do you spend in the water with the dolphins, Etc>

Hi we have been to this excursion before we took the kids thou. I believe it is worth it if you have kids, you spend about 30 to 45 min. with the dolphins in thier area in the water, first you get there and go through the safety and education of the dolphins then you get in the water sitting after your encounter with the dolphins you get the option to go to the gift shop or just relax the have pop and snacks also.

We just returned from the Encounter. It was on the Gastinaeu Girls!! (if you watch that sort of thing)
It was expensive but worth it for a family. They take lots of pictures - even video - and you do get in the water on a platform with the dolphin for quite a while. More time with a smaller group. The setting was nice and the ride over was pleasant although we made a stop at Paradise Island that added time to the wait.

Thank you for the information. I would love to get more into detail if you care to share.I would really like to do this but I am trying to talk myself out of it.
How much time do you really spend in the water with the dolphin/dolphins?Is there just one dolphin or more then one? How long do you spend touching the dolphin? or do you just see him do tricks the whole time? Do you just sit on a dock and take a turn getting into the water and touching the dolphin or does everyone in your group enter the water at the same time. you also said that they take picture and a video. How much will the vedio cost and how much do the pictures cost and what sizes? Is the video just with you on it or the whole group? how many do they limit for a group?
As I am a dolphin lover, I really want to do this but the cost is alittle steep. Please talk me into taking this dolphin escurion.

I did the Royal Swim in Cozumel. Totally an experince of a lifetime. Great time. Go to dolphindiscovery.com It's a little bit cheaper if you book through the park itself. Going back on cruise in April and will be doing the sealion swim with the encounter. Can't wait. Enjoy!
