Well, this just gets better. There was another price drop. Another $20. So now the price is down to the original fare I booked at when I originally booked the cruise that would have left two weeks later. So, I e-mailed my travel agent again. Her reply was that Carnival would not honor the price drop and allow me to keep the $25 OBC. Okay, so I hve to choose between a $40 price drop or $25 OBC. I've requested the $40 price drop. So here is the thing. The games Carnival is playing with the price drops and OBC don't bother me one bit. What did bother me is that Carnival would not allow me to rebook at the same price for the same cabin on the same ship two weeks earlier because Carnival forced me to change sail dates (even though in the end it may work out to my advantage - but that is a different story). Yet now I am back to the original price I wanted to book at. Had Carnival allowed me to do this five months ago we would be at the same point we are now, except I would not be miffed at Carnival.
