Your time dining

We did it on the Fantasy in September and it worked well. We love the flexibility of going to dinner when we are ready and not by the clock. Some nights you just get moving later than others. Our service was great and many nights we had the same waiters.

We love it - as stated - some nights you are hungry at 6:00 pm or you are getting back late from a tour and want to rest.

Same food - we really enjoy eating when we want.

How does it work? Do you sign up for YOUR TIME dining on the first day?

You make that selection at the time you make your booking.

I will take the other point of view from my esteemed @ddicts pals who have posted already. The any time dining is not our cup of tea. We prefer the traditional dining with a large table. We enjoy having the interaction with the same table mates & wait staff for the whole cruise. We missed that on our recent NCL cruise.

Different stroke for different folks. :sunny:

I just booked a cruise on the Carnival Valor for April 2011 and we requested this dining option. In the past we've always requested the late dining time but thought we'd try something new this cruise. We are a family of 4 and would like to have it just be the 4 of us dining together. Can you request a table for 4 or do they sometimes put you at a table with other guests? Any info would be appreciated!

On NCL they seated us by ourselves. On Princess they asked if we wanted to be seated alone or with other people. Not sure about Carnival but I imagine they would give you your choice.

The Miracle (Spirit Class) had a lot of tables for four. Not sure about the Valor (Conquest Class).

Since I cruise SOLO.... it is very easy for me to dine at whatever time I want because I always want to join a group of dinners. I am only one person so it is very easy to seat me.
I like meeting lots of different people. Plus, I like to eat at different times.

Our experience with the My Time Dining was great, 9 of us traveled on the Liberty and it was very convienent, some night we all dined together and others seperately. We never had to sit with others.

We leave in three weeks on the Liberty, can we change this easily or does it become a hassle? Life has been such that my wife and I NEED this vacation and are already setting up at least 2 massages maybe more. No hassles is the ultimate goal.

On the first day there is usually a time that the Maitre De is availbale to make changes, the few times we have needed a change I did tip him for accomodating us. The My Time Dining is a much more relaxing vacation, you can actually take a nap after a busy port day without feeling like you are going to miss out on something.
