On NCL they seated us by ourselves. On Princess they asked if we wanted to be seated alone or with other people. Not sure about Carnival but I imagine they would give you your choice. The Miracle (Spirit Class) had a lot of tables for four. Not sure about the Valor (Conquest Class).
