RCI has purchased Pullmantur SA and will be trading their ship for the Zenith as the Zenith finishes in Bayoone in April. The New ship named "Celebrity Journey" will do the Bermuda Run that summer. It is a Former R 6 I believe.

Wondering if anyone has any idea's about how that last trip a repos from Tampa to New Jerey will go for those on board. It is a 15 night with a supr itinerary. They was some negative opinions on the Horizon's "Last" voyage for X.

Bob,

I am sure that X will do everything they can to make it a good cruise, but I personally wouldn't want to book it. I would have the obvious concern that a crew getting busted up will have their minds on everything but the passengers.
The ship's officers are no exception. All of them will be busy packing, saying goodby, settling accounts, ending romances, etc, etc, etc. It just adds a little too much drama for me.

Celebrity is trading ships! The Celebrity fleet will give Pullmantur (Spanish cruise line now owned by Royal Caribbean) the Zenith and will get the Blue Dream as part of the trade. The Blue Dream is one of the old Renaissance R ships. The ship is a lot smaller than the Zenith and can accommodate 685 passengers.

We are booked on her sister-ship the Insigna (Oceanic) in March 2008 on a three continent cruise out of Rio. We did sail the R4 in the South Pacific and loved the ship. It is the smallest ship we have sailed on and I am sorry I didn't have the Zenith booked for a Bermuda cruise - would love to do it on the new Celebrity Journey, the perfect ship to sail Bermuda waters, can dock almost any where. However, I don't know how many people already had reservations on the Zenith - some of them will have to stay home, no room on the Journey for all of them!

So, we will be one of the last groups to sail on the Zenith before she finds a new home in Spain, how sad. We will be cruising on the Zenith January 19. Glad we will be able to sail on her befofe she leaves the fleet. This will be our first and last cruise on the Zenith!

I think you will enjoy the Zenith if they have kept it up and staff together. We've been on the ship a number of times and really enjoyed it. People are always saying that it is smaller but that is compared to the huge ships of today and actually it is quite roomy.

Let us know how your January cruise goes please.

Will do. Looking forward to it. I seem to enjoy the smaller ships that have less glitz and are a bit older. Soon there won't be any left!

Took the Regal Princess to Alaska - loved the ship. The Mercury has been one of my favorties too. Just glad we will be on the Zenith before she retires from the Celebrity fleet. Once they put a few million into her, she won't be the same.

We just found out about the Zenith trade. Sorry to see her go, but fortunately for us we were booked on her for our 25th Anniversary on July 7, 2007. We went from a 172 sq ft cabin to a 323 sq ft suite w/veranda. That will make this cruise soooooo special for our Anniversary. Can't wait!!!

good for you..sure were no balcony's on the Zenith.. Which I think is one reason for the switch. Your Discovery is much smaller though..
