We will be sailing on the Zenith next month, our first cruise on her.

Since she will soon be leaving the fleet, please share your favorite memories of the Zenith with us.

What did you like best about this ship?
Any secrets about her you want to share?
Where was your favortie spot to sit and read, rest or just day dream?

Many thanks

ah yes the Zenith.. I have most of my sea days on her.(But not enough yet have booked her last Voyage as an X ship in April) First cruise was in 92 I think if I recall correctly.
People refer to her as a small ship but that is only relative to those monsters of today I thought it was big and it was still big when we sailed again on her.

I tink the best tip I can give is that the middle bank of elevators doesn't go to the "Top" Right.!!!Just like the standard joke. It gets stuck under the bottom of the pool. If you are like me this will not work it's way into you brain until the very last day and you will spend sometime walking down the hallway of cabindoors. :) There is something about getting to the Dining room via the rear elevator also.
I just checked the plans at it's during the closed hours you can't get forward cause the doors are locked. That's it.

A very nice ship.
The fleet bar is the place to be... to hide read.. dance and nitecap. Great view and comfy. The very first martini bar in the fleet. Small by todays standards. Opened and run by "Sudi" (who just retired to Bali off the Century.
amd on and on I go. any specific Q's give me a shout. Oh I forgot about the aft topside hot tubs.

I will be sailing her on 4/2/07. Our first time on her and one of her last sailings! We are looking forward to going on Celebrity again. Being on a smaller ship again will be fun, I'm sure.

We were on Zenith in 1996 to the Southern Caribbean. She was a beautiful ship, and I see from others' photos that this is still the case.

One secret -- Cabin 9054, listed as an obstructed view (at least when we went) has its cabin located smack dab between two lifeboats; therefore, it's far from unobstructed.

Our favorite memory was that of a dear, elderly lady who was a frequent traveler on the ship. Every year, she'd fly from her home in New York City in late December/early January to San Juan, board Zenith, and remain on board until late April when the ship repositioned to NYC for the Bermuda season. She was a favorite of many of the crew, and enjoyed talking with passengers. She took a real liking to our son, who was about 2 years old at the time. She also carried a Polaroid camera to take photos of herself with the pax she met. She would always have two photos taken so that we could have one as well.

I hope she is still enjoying the shipboard life somewhere.
