Scenic Group Names Sture Myrmell Chief Operating Officer

Scenic Group has appointed veteran cruise executive Sture Myrmell as chief operating officer, placing him in charge of global operations across Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours and Emerald Cruises’ river, ocean and land-journey businesses. Scenic announced the move as the company enters one of the largest fleet-expansion periods in its 40-year history. Myrmell previously held senior roles with Cunard, Seabourn, Princess Cruises and P&O Cruises Australia, later serving as president of Carnival Australia and Carnival UK, COO at Journey Beyond and, most recently, president of AROYA Cruises. Scenic also recently added former Kempinski Hotels executive Riko van Santen as chief information officer. The leadership changes come ahead of multiple new Scenic and Emerald river ships and yachts scheduled through 2028.
