I have never cruised before and would like to understand what bidding on a cabin upgrade means? Can someone please advise. Also as I have never cruised before can anyone help me with tips and tricks to look out for. I have a limited budget but also want the best experience for my Daughter. Please let me know.

Bidding on a cabin upgrade means that if there are upgraded rooms/suites available, the highest bidder will be charged their bid and upgraded. You just need to enter how much your highest bid would be (like on ebay) and if you win the "auction", you are liable to pay what you bid. This rarely happens; the rooms usually sell out.

AND unless a specific cabin is named......their idea of an upgrade may not be yours. Be careful during the process. Not all lines do this and the ones that do don't do it all the same way.

Thank you for your advice.... any advice is helpful and I will give it a go if the funds allow. Otherwise we make the most of the inside cabin and get up on deck and enjoy!

In regards to Crusing Tips. #1. Find a TA that specialises in Cruising Only . #2 Don't sweat the small stuff. I doubt that anyone has ever been on a perfect holiday with a cruise. Especially if it includes Air travel. When you book come back we got lots of tips.
