TGIF! Dan, my TA was discussing the Oasis today. She said that the Oasis and the new Celebrety Solstice are awesome ships. I asked her to mail us a brochure. She highly recommends both.

OGirls,
Have you heard anything about these ships?

Jim,
What project do you have going on now?

Regina,
Time to share about your trip.

Sheree,
Do you have any airline travel tips to share. We have not flown in a few years.

Hope everyone has a blessed weekend. Be good to yourself!

Yes Tommy, please share.

Barb, who are you flying? Check the baggage policies as well as verify flights. Baggage is being charged for and many airlines are canceling flights/routes. Also, since it's been a while since you have flown, check with the airport, many things have changed since 9/11.

114 degrees and gas is $4.12 a gallon,,,what about your world?

78 degrees and $3.93 per gallon here!

The Oasis does look amazing...but maybe even too big and overwhelming?????

An interesting day here....went to see the surgeon to make plans to take out my cyst in the next couple of weeks, and he decided to take it out today....so a quick little surgical procedure in his office, and I was back to work. I guess it pays to work at a hospital - they want you to get right back to work and not miss any more time than necessary! I was truly expecting to miss a day or two of work. Greg told me he thought I might be queezy from the anesthesia or something, and need to sleep it off....he thought he'd need to drive me. I was sure I'd get worked up and toss and turn the night before, and instead...it's over. I am so glad. It'll be healed up nicely in a couple of weeks and hopefully I won't have another one of these things!

Barb....how long has it been since you last flew somewhere? The biggest difference, or inconvenience, that I've noticed is the need to check you toiletries in your baggage. I always packed my stuff in my carryon so I could keep it upright and it didn't spill out in the checked bags....well, now I pack things to be checked, double bag it in a big ziplock, and pray that my shampoo doesn't spill all over my stuff in flight! And as George mentioned, just watching the baggage allowance is important too. Other than that, the longer security lines, which I think have absolutely gotten a little better in the last couple of years, are pretty much the biggest issues.

Hope everyone is looking forward to an enjoyable weekend. Surprise....I'll be at the mall tomorrow. Sheree

Hi All,
Barb...
Jim,
What project do you have going on now?
It is funny you asked I found another bus this morning in the next town over...you could say I was bus hunting... the owner was not at home...so I had to look up the property owner on the county records... he didn`t have a listed phone number..so I called the people next door ansd they gave me his cell number...I called and left a message..I waiting a call back :) I love this bus hunting stuff.

George,
73 degrees and raining, gas $3.95 regular... I will get with you this week about the dive.

Sheree,
I did that once I had a cyst on my face. I thought the Dr. would set up a date to remove it...he didn`t he removed it right there. I was just glad it was over.

I hope everyone is doing well.

Randy...thanks for posting. Margaret - (we know you are out there!) - sorry that you have been through so much lately. I am so glad to hear that you're now cancer free. Stay healthy, and Randy, listen to your wife. I'll keep you both in my prayers and we'll hope that we'll be able to cruise together again sometime down the road. You two are wonderful people - I hope things continue to get better fro you both.

Ok Cats....so, St John???? What were we going to do, just enjoy the beach, snorkel, etc? Or was there more to it than that?

Let's start figuring it out!

Randy, thanks for checking in with us and updating everything going on. I almost didn't recognize your screen name; it's been some time since we last heard from you. Obviously your recent chain of events would explain a lot. Sorry to hear about Marg's dad and what bad timing to have to deal with his passing, as well as learning she had breast cancer...that had to be devestating. Obviously that speaks volumes about Marg's inner strength and her ability to overcome cancer as well. Let her know we are thinking about her and we will keep you both in our prayers. In the future, please check in with us often...Once a Big Cat, always a Big Cat! If possible please consider cruising with us next year...you both could use a break and it would be great to see you both. You got us on gas prices by a few pennies...then again the day is still young. Temps have been 115-116 this past week...supposed to really cool off thought...112-113.

Sheree[/quote]

Sheree, I know what you mean. I know nothing about St. John. Is it another beach day like Labadee or Cococay, or is it considerably bigger with more to see and do? Where are our resident St. John experts (Tommy & Regina) when we need them? I've been saddled with Arrielle today, who will most certainly report to Anne if I've been glued to the computer, in favor of her "honey do" list :( I've currently got her occuppied with a chick flick; I'm going to research on St. John while I can.

Does anyone have any plans for the 4th of July. We are considering a couple nights in Calif, or a resort here in town. Surprisingly rates are pretty good so close to the holiday. I have to think this is largely due to fuel prices. I seen a report on American travel last week that stated all travel modes, whether by car, plane, train, ship, are way down this past quarter. Unfortunately this doesn't appear to be bringing cruise pricing down as of yet though. Sooner or later this is going to affect them I would think. They can't just keep raising fuel supplements to cover their losses. Has anyone looked at pricing for next year?

Are you kidding me....

I can't even phathom this on a ship. I would have to think the Aqua theatre is the main theatre? Is it wide open to the elements? If so, it's going to get rather warm in the caribbean...even at night. There has to be a means for closing the whole thing off in inclement weather...hopefully it doesn't look to cheesey. The one thing that's obvious though...no aft cabins!
