Yo Tommy.

Went for the main-pedi today and tried out a new cruise color....I am thinking if might be California Raspberry this cruise. What do you think, girls? Then, I went to the grocery store, and couldn't resist buying raspberries. Hmmmmmmm......

Barb, when is Las Vegas?

Ok....back to vacuuming....after I see if the girls at my favorite purse store are there today......Sheree

Good afternoon all,

Well, we managed to survive the Jonas Brothers concert last night...barely! The venue is outside (we were seated in the cheap seats - turf area) and the weather was miserable! To top that off, the combination of the big storm Thursday night and personnel not shutting off the irrigation, made for soggy conditions. Folks really got their money worth though, they played every song from all three albums...very long concert...way to long! Of course if you asked Arrielle and her friend, they would have preferred a do-over if they had their way. I got a real good photo of the two of them by the tour bus and had a 8x10 blown up for each of them.

On next years cruise...any more comitments Tommy (quiet Regina), Girls, Barb, Randy?

Either the FOS or LOS is fine with us. I'm gathering most would prefer the FOS due to close proximity to homes? We are ok with either, although LOS is a year newer.

Geoge - glad you survived the Jonas Brothers. I was wondering how you were doing!

It's rainy and humid here. It was supposed to be hot and humid yesterday, but we got some crazy downpours that cooled things down. It's still thick as anything out there. I'll be enjoying the A/C while Greg is at work today.

Jim, what's the latest with the bus collection?

Same here Sheree, monsoon season is most certainly in full swing here. Only one big storm so far, but conditions are ripe for repeats!

I'm not sure about in everyone else's neck of the woods, but dealerships and private owners are lined up by the hundreds with trucks and sport utilities they can't give away. Our little Ford Ranger is no longer practical for stuffing Arrielle in the little extra cab and we are in need of something bigger. Needless to say a fully loaded truck / sport utility 2004 - 2007 can be had for 10k...and thats with low miles. On the flip side, the market is quite good for small trucks and I should be able to do quite well on it. The combination of the two should leave me owing very little on an upgrade...never thought I would ever see something like that! I can't imagine how hard it must be for folks to preactically give away vehicles they paid 30k - 40k+ for. Then again I nod my head when I fill up at $50.00 a tank...can't imagine what it must be like to fill up at $100.00 a tank possibly 2x a week. On the bright side, I work close to home, so the commute / fuel shouldn't be an issue with the new vehicle. On the other end of the spectrum, these small vehicles with good mpg are going for a fortune and waiting lists are a mile long. Dealerships are cleaning up on them as well...the mark-up is insane.

Hi All,
I am still alive :)
WE have 3 running busses right now and 2 not running. I am planning on trying water injection on my bus. I have been following along with some people that have it in there buses. It will give you more horse power and more mileage. I am told it will make the engone run cooler.

Tomorrow will be my first day off for the new cut at work. I am not one to not work and I think I am going to go look into another job tomorrow.
It will be working for 2 diffrent cities half a day in one and the other half in the other I think I can strike a deal and save them some money.
We will see what happends :)

Rained all weekend here Bubba and I had to cut the lawn between rains but we got it done.

Hi All,
Sheree,
The department I work for is fee funded, We do not use tax money. In an effort to keep employees we have cut the work week to 32 hrs. That is a 20% cut for everyone. If and when construction picks up we will go back to 40 hrs. If things stay the same than we will have to have another lay off.

Hey Big Cats...

Yes we have been doing well since our little TV segments. It is a beautiful thing. Thanks for all the support.

George, Cris had me there at 5:30am so I was not very talkative. I was secretly sleeping behind that smile!

Fuel charge keeps going up with the cruise lines. NCL is up to $12 & 7! They will never add the fuel to the cost of the cruise because then they would have to pay commission on it to the agents. If you booked your cruise prior to Nov. I think the 2nd 2007 you should receive your refund.

FOS on 9/13/09? Is this set because I will open group space for us and Cris. Let me know. Hope it works out so we can go.

I have to run for now. :wave

Hi guys -

Jim - thanks for the explanation. I know you mentioned cutting back by 20% before, but I didn't realize that was how they were cutting. I also didn't realize that you were fee-funded, so I can see that would drive the budget. I hope things go okay....heck, maybe it's Grand Cayman time again???

Dee - I am pretty impressed by your use of advanced smiley-type things! Go to the head of the class, young lady!!!

So what is everyone thinking about the week of 9/13/09? I think George was the one who mentioned possibly going the weekend before, to be gone for Labor Day....what does everyone think? I also think we (or maybe even me) tossed out the other ship....so if we want to go west, I think our options are:

September 5th or 19th - Liberty of the Seas - leaving from Miami, to Labadee, Ocho Rios, Grand Cayman, Cozumel
September 13th - Freedom of the Seas - leaving from Port Canaveral to Labadee, Ocho Rios, Grand Cayman, Cozumel

We (Greg and I) would probably be better on the 5th or 13th - the 19th would probably conflict with Greg's coworker's pick, and the coworker gets to choose first.

Anyway, I don't think we (Greg and I) are ready to commit yet, because we want to do Next Cruise and then see what the perks are when we get back. I know I don't have the cash right now to commit. (See previous post about the king (lol) getting his flat screen TV and my possible purchase of a laptop.) But it is fun trying to figure out what we want to do next year.....hopefully we can get things figured out when we are all together - and then maybe we can book as soon as we get back. What do the rest of you think?

Is anyone watching the homerun derby tonight? I love that.....even more than the All-Star game.

Ok....I am done rambling. Someone cut me off.....I've had too much Diet Coke!

Re-reading my post.....Why did I say "we (Greg and I)" multiple times? You guys know who I mean when I say "we" plus he does whatever I say when it comes to cruise planning anyway! Usually he can't even name the ports when anyone asks!!!!

Ahhh Dee, what would Cris think if she new you were playing around on the internet again ;D Doesn't CrisDee's have a company policy on that :D

Dee, the 9/13 sailing is fine with us. I know I mentioned the possibility of a labor day cruise, but I also know how important it is for everyone to stay close to home...so we are flexible with whatever everyone wants to do. We are going to be buying another vehicle this week, so we can't say 100% certain as of yet. Funds are a little tight after this past cruise as well, need to pay off the credit card prior to comiting to next cruise. With any luck we should be ready within a few months.

Jim, we must have been posting at the same time. How did you find the C&A coupons? I didn't know they could be found so far in advance. And if the Mariner is your 5th RCCL cruise, you will be platinum on next years cruise.
