[quote 4evercruzin]Good Morning Cats,

I have begun to pack. Yippee! I worked on packing Mom's meds yesterday. I am hoping to accomplish our "just in case we need it" medical supply and toiletries today.

This will be our third cruise on the Mariner. So far, she is our favorite ship. I believe the Freedom class would be more fun for children with the water zone.

Where are we planning to go next year? When? Any considerations?

Hi Barb,

Glad to see the packing is underway. As far as the Freedom class...they are awesome! I know previously, the scuttle for next year seemed to be centered on the Freedom class.

Ok...I have to say it.....I liked the water park myself. Just sitting along the sides, and occasionally walking under the squirting water was refreshing to me. Normally I don't swim in the regular pool on the ship because of the salt water, but I guess I just like the waterpark so I could cool off while sitting along the side or walking in knee deep water. And I am all for the Freedom Class next year....but let's get out on this one first and we can talk while we are onboard!

Today I went from "YAY - only 6 more work days" to "OMG, how am I going to get everything wrapped up so I can get out of here in 5 work days???" On Friday, I get my new office furniture, so I'll be disrupted for a good part of my day. I am hoping to get a presentation done tomorrow so it is ready for the week that I come back. There are just so many things.....and these darn employees just want things all the time!

Off to check on the storms and dream more about the cruise.....Sheree

Hi All,
Long day at work today, had some classes this morning, lunch and classes this afternoon plus getting my job done.

Hanna will not be a problem for Florida. Ike on the other hand might be trouble... Ike is on a westerly track it is a hurricane now. Looks like Ike will slide between Florida and Cuba than to the gulf as a cat 3 hurricane... that is what I am worried about.. where Ike will go from there?? Ike just might slap florida around the way he did Tina!! JK
Josephine looks like it will head north and not be a threat to anyone. I hope so.

I am so ready for this cruise only 5 more working days :)

Jim said it all in a nut shell...sometimes it's words that speak volumes over pics. The one thing I find curious is how much Hanna has slowed down and the eratic pattern she has been on. With the ever approaching Ike on her heels, I wonder if his circulation is having an impact on Hanna's path. If she continues on such a slow path, all bets are off on projections. Ike is already a Cat 3 and Hanna is expected to reach Hurricaine strength tomorrow. The worry is what impact both of these storms will have on the ports of call and port canaveral.

Ike...

And as Jim stated, Josephine doesn't appear to be a threat at this time...but that all depends on how fast Hanna and Ike can get out of town.

Thanks Sheila - can't wait to have fun with you and the rest of your group!!!

George, you are now the designated Big Cats weatherman. The group is depending on you to keep us updated with satellite images. Thanks for manning up.

My last Thursday of work for a while....YEAH! I get my interim evaluation this AM from the new boss. She's quite fun - I hope the eval is as good as I think it is going to be. Unfortunately no $$$ is involved. Oh well.

Are you guys experiencing lower gas prices? Last night one of the stations on my way home from work had gas at $3.43. I haven't seen that for a while. With all the bad weather expected, I filled up this weekend at $3.59 just in case it went back up with Gustav, but now it's going down. It's sad when gas at $3.43 excites you!

Ok....off to start my 5th last day....Sheree

Good Morning Cats,
We enjoyed sailing on LOS, but the Mariner has a quaint pub (Wig and Gavel) on the Promenade Deck we enjoy. We are disappointed that she is leaving the east coast. If we were to take our grandchildren, we would prefer to sail on a Freedom class ship.

Ike appears to be headed straight for us living near Port Canaveral. Eeek! We have a waterfront lot and had one palm tree base covered in approximately a foot of water. Fortunately, the house is built on an incline. Ike needs to move back out to sea.

Greg read The Mariner is leaving this Friday instead of Sunday. Sure would love 9 nights on a cruise even if I had to wear the same outfit twice!

George,
Thanks for the storm updates.

Need to go work on packing.
