Great advice on something I've not really looked into so far prior to my first cruise. Can I just clarify, when I'm on SOS in August, while on board I should:
- join C&A on board (not wait until cruise finishes which is what I thought we had to do)?
- book a Next Cruise - even if destination (ie New Zealand/Australia/South Pacific) not confirmed and no current sailing dates set yet for 2010?
- We are in a JS (sooo happy) so we get 2 cruise credits?

You can join C and A right onboard, but if its your first RCCL,you won't be an official member(GOLD) till after the cruise.........which means no C and A benefits till your second cruise.....

Yes, by all means get a Next Cruise or two or three......they are good indefinitely for whatever cruise you pick whenever it might be.,

2 credits for that JS!! Yes,Indeed.......

If you are interested in a certain future cruise I would check with my T/A before going and get a price on the future cruise and then compare it with what the agent on board offers, including pn board perks. Our agent discounts and always gives us on an onbard credit. No damage is done if you book on board as your T/A will get credit for it.

Unfortunately the price onboard will always equal the price your TA gives you because Royal Caribbean no longer allows price discounting. That sort of thing will get your TA fired. Of course that means that perks start rolling in from the TA!

Yes, you also earn benefits while cruising whether on RCI or Celebrity. Nice bene's that the company combines both lines. You gotta love it!!!!
