Celebrity Vs Carnival

Ok I've recovered now. Hehe. As for Carnival again I enjoyed my cruises too much to let others be too discouraged. I don't like noise either (I actually have a problem that causes pain) but some areas of every cruise ship will be noisy and other areas will be quiet. Just for example on Carnival Legend, on 3 different occasions I found pianists (crew) just sitting and playing the most beautiful classical music in open areas on Deck 3(?), just down from the Casino (and near the Internet cafe the next time) and the first day I sat and listened for a whole hour before I knew the time had passed, and then she left to do other things.

Again this was Carnival. Just saying.

...But I'm saying I thoroughly enjoyed (although some didn't seem to) the 2 Carnival cruises that I've been on.

But now I'll sailing on the Celebrity Eclipse ..... in 2 DAYS!!!

jandros,
I don't know your entire cruising history...but, if it's just those two Carnival cruises and the upcoming Celebrity Eclipse cruise tomorrow, I really think you will notice the major differences...

Of course, I won't debate that a lot of folks enjoy their Carnival cruises...I mean, what's not to enjoy? they feed you, they entertain you, they take you places and they wait on you and clean up after you...beats being at home and going to work every day...But, all cruise lines do those things...some do them better than others...IMHO, Celebrity does it much better than Carnival...

OTOH, if what one is looking for in a cruise is a lot of folks making a lot of noise, drinking, getting loud...they might prefer Carnival...Celebrity may be a little too refined for them...everyone's different...

What we did see on Carnival were a lot of rowdy younger people, a lot of bachelor and bachlorette parties...it was sort of like going to Circus Circus or the Excalibur in Vegas, but on a ship...OTOH, there are many folks who like just that...

Personally, I loved the Eclipse...and I'll be back on board next July...
Enjoy tour cruise...Come back and let us know what you thought...

Bon Voyage...

I enjoy both cruise lines.

The big plus for Celebrity is the NO SMOKING policy. Not even in the casino. Smoking is allow in very limited areas.

Here is one difference I love on Celebrity you asked about going to buffett instead of dinner on Celebrity you can still get what is being served in the dinning room delivered to your room at no extra charge. On port days when we get back with little time to spare we generally will have room service on our balcony from the MDR menu complete with white table cloths.
