Change in Liquor Policy?

My question is this, is it really that big of a deal to bring your own on board or isn't it just easier to comply with their rules and buy drinks from the bars? To me it sounds like a lot of extra work and aggravation and extra weight to drag around. I'm sure it is cheaper but my question is, is it really worth it?

Right now I'm leaning towards not bringing anything on board and sticking with the complimentary juice, tea, etc. and the cheaper drinks of the day. What does everyone else think?

dear cruzman lol .i will let you know if i cruise before you do. some how smuggleing alcohol in water bottles doesn't appeal to me. i would however like to make a purchase on board though and have it in my room. we did that on celebrity and it was allowed.

I just got off of the phone with someone from Carnival, and they said that you could not take liquor bought on the ship back to your room.
