Give Me Liberty or Give Me the Big Cats 9/15/07 (or Give Me Both!)

Ok...It's time for the Big Cats to invade yet another ship....and in 2007 it will be the Liberty!

So, let's start the countdown, and let's start talking about those fabulous ports to shop, sun our buns, shop, explore other cultures, shop, and if there is time left, shop!

Can't wait to see all the Big Cats there! Let's start talking it up now!

Sheree (and Greg, who MUST learn how to post again!)

Sheree, I love the new thread name....FANTASTIC!!!! I am very excited to start planning for our next and best Big Cat Cruise. It is exciting to be going to some new ports. Dee and I will have to get on the ball and start researching the fun things to do.

Dee and I changed out our window displays yesterday to a fall theme, we rearranged a few things in the store and by Gods grace we were busy with customers so all in all it was a great day. I had an old TV sitting in the garage so I brought it in to the store and we set it up. Dee brought her vhs and her cruise videos so while we have lunch we can dream....lol Of course yesterday was overshadowed by Dees drama, she was cutting a chicken breast and sliced the flesh on her finger really bad, she was bleeding terribly and she thought she might need stitches so I called Doris to the rescue who showed up with her antiseptic wash from the hospital that she had for her wounds and she assessed the situation and cleaned up the finger and luckily Dee did not need stitches, but the poor thing was in so much pain. Hopefully today she will not be in any pain. We are having game day at our house today, I am making mexican food and we are going to play pictionary and or poker. Just a day to hang out with our friends.

The weather is absolutely incredible, last night I came home and Julie was cleaning the house with all the windows open and it was magnificent, a cool breeze flowing through the house. We have the windows open this morning as well but they say it is going to be 83 by 2pm so I better have the air on before Dee gets here, she hates to sweat...lol

Well thats the news for today, I am excited for Regina, Tommy, Jim and the kids, they are going to have so much fun on that incredible ship.

Have a great day!!!!!!

Julie says hello!!

Geez Dee - sorry about the little accident. I hope you are doing okay. As a quick re-cap on our ports of call, we will be visiting the following ports:

Sat: Ft Lauderdale 4:00PM
Sun: Fun day at sea
Mon: San Juan 5:00pm-12:00am
Tue: St Thomas 7:00am-6:00pm
Wed: Antigua 7:00am-6:00pm
Thu: Tortola 7:00am-3:30pm
Fri: Fun day at sea
Sat: Nassau 1:00pm-8:00pm
Sun: Return to Fort Lauderdale

I tend to favor less ports than this itinerary, so I think Greg and I will probably pretend that San Juan day is a sea day and stay onboard. I love St Thomas and will probably want to shop. Antigua is completely new to me, so we'll have to research that one a little. It's been years since we've been to Tortola, but I am really looking forwrad to that. Nassau could be a good pool or beach day - maybe we can visit the place that the Orlando girls visited a few weeks ago. Other than that, not a lot about Nassau excites me. And what strange hours - 1PM-8PM. We've got a year to plan, so I think we can start checking this stuff out. For some reason, I thought we were going to St Martin again, and I was a touch disappointed to see that we are not. I don't know why I was thinking that!

Well, let's get researching! Our friends are probably mustering right now!

Hey y'all,

Sheree, thanks for sweeping out the old and bringing in the new. We have not been to either Tortola or Antiqua, looking forward to them. With San Juan and Nassau being late arrivals, they are almost like sea days.

I spoke with Jim a few times today, he says the ship is beyond comparisson. He says the staff are jumping through hoops to make you comfortable right off the bat. If only the prices wern't so high on this ship...it would be our choice hands down! With that stated, I'm not going to get soaked for $200.00 more a person to go on this ship...as tempting as it is. It looking at pricing, it looks like both Carnival and RCCL have had substantial price increases, luckily we booked early! Did everyone get their Crown and Anchor coupons? The Liberty of the SEas has a $125.00 coupon in it.

We survived Arrielle's slumber party...barely! I finally had to shut them down at 2:30 am this morning...they were still going strong! Got up this morning and made them breakfast, gave them "goody" bags (how come they never had "goody" bags at boys partys? You know, a Playboy, Victorias Secret calendar and the latest version of Debbie Does...!).

George, I think you answered your own question on why boys don't get goody bags!

I am glad to hear that they seem to be bending over backwards for Jim and Family. I can't wait to hear from him when he gets back. That ship just sounds amazing, and I agree with you, George, if the price were to come down just a little bit, I'd want to be on it!

Also, Cris and Dee, I am glad that sales are good after the display changes. I am always thinking of what my next bag will look like. And I can't wait to pull out my flamingo bag for the holidays!

Well, off to work. I've got to drive about an hour to a meeting this morning before going into the hospital. At least my morning will go fast. I hope the cruising Cats are enjoying themselves this morning - I am sure they are!

Good morning Cats!

Sunday was a fun day here in Orlando, Dee and Doris and my sister came over and we had mexican food and played pictionary and poker. We drank margaritas and sat outside all day. We never did turn the air on and the weather was incredible. We laughed alot at our drawings, especially mine...however once I started incorporating coordinating colors in my drawings things got a bit better....lol Julie on the other hand has now realized that margaritas are not for her anymore. She loves them but they hate her....Burning stomach all night followed by a violent act of throwing everything up everything from the day...Needless to say she is home in bed for the duration of the day.

Hopefully Dee will be doing good today, she had a few bumps on the finger yesterday and by the end of the day was in quite a bit of pain. We are suppose to do a bit of shopping today, Dee got gift certificates for her b-day to one of our favorite stores and we planned to go running around.

I could just imagine how fabulous the Freedom is...I wish we could get on her as well even though I am not thrilled with her itinerary. I am happy about going somewhere we have never been. I will be researching Antigua for parasailing, I don't think I can wait for the mexican riviera.

Well thats it for me, I am headed over to the couch to catch up on my recorded shows.

Sheree, have a great day and safe trip to your meeting.

Good morning y'all,

I think post cruise depression has set in for us this year. The last few days conversation has consisted of "well, Jim, Bubba, Bobbie, Tommy and Regina must be getting packed now"...."well they must be on there way to the port by now"..."well they must be on the ship by now"..."well they must be at dinner by now"...and this morning "well they must be at breakfast right now"! I think we need counseling. My employer has a Employee Assistance Program to deal with a wide variety of topics, including depression. I told my boss I was submitting paperwork for assistance for two cruises a year :) If they are as earnest as they say they are, they will help me.

We finally got our Ford Ranger back the other day, but not before we got soaked for $500.00 for repairs they aren't sure will work. Just not good timing just after the cruise; especially when we are tinkering with how to do a second cruise this year.

Sheree, there is nothing wrong with my "goody bag" idea...I wonder if the ACLU will take up my case ;)

We have been monitoring the Freedom pricing for a few months now and they have done nothing but go up. Like Cris, we are not in a hurry to go back to the Western route, but would if the price were right on the Freedom.Like Cris, we really like the idea of going to both Tortola and Antiqua for the first time. The additional day on the cruise certainly doesn't hurt either. Anne and I were discussing this morning how we would like to do a back to back cruise some day...who's game! Obviously that will have to wait until retirement or at least until Arrielle is off to college...but it sure sounds good! There is a bright a bright side to having a year between cruises, my waist line needs the recovery period. Jim and I ate every meal like it was going to be our last! Needless to say, I need to get my fat a** in the gym!

Has anyone heard from our favorite southerners or Ken & Kerri...wish they could sail with us next year.

Hey y'all,

This should give you an accurate idea of how much we like the Freedom class, I have been pricing since I dropped Arrielle off to school this morning. Here is food for thought...the 9/8/06 Liberty of the Seas sailing has a $125.00 coupon for it. That would mean it comes out to be $8.00 cheaper than what we are paying for the Liberty sailing...just thought I would throw it out there!

Good afternoon all,
Hope everyone is doing well. We just back on Saturday from our cruise on the Navigator of the Seas. Everything was great!! The ship is beautiful and the food and service was awesome. Jacob loved Adventure Ocean...sometimes we couldn't get him out of there. We also had an in-cabin babysitter for Owen on 6 of the 7 nights, so that worked out great for Dawn and I. We would love to join you guys next year, but Jacob starts kindergarten next year and we don't want to pull him out of school for a week. So much for October crusing. We have booked a cruise for the Mariner in May of 2007, we did that while we were on the Navigator. Anyway, hope everyone has a great day. I will check back soon.

George,
I know you are probably not too happy about the Seahawks-Rams game yesterday. I can't believe my Hawks pulled that game out.

I am with George if the Liberty of the seas is half what this ship is I am game. also I booked this cruise through skyscraper and we have the best room...we had muster drill in the dinning room wile everyone else was on the hot deck also Kristy had lots of stuffin our cabin for us..she did us right.
I don`t want to spend all my cruise on the internet so I will post when we get home :)

Jim,

Are you kidding, you have an audience here, you don't get off that easy. I know you will be checking in from time to time. With that since all of us only have the Mariner to use as a comparisson, what are the differences you see when putting the ships side by side? We also want a picture of you on the Wave rider! Were you able to get your dining set up with Regina and Tommy? On the Liberty of the Seas, we would be game if that's what everyone else wants to do. Either way we can all talk about it when you guys get back. Certainly we want to make our minds up before they have another price hike.

David, yes, I about had a stroke at the end of the game yesterday. I was thinking about your agony during the fumble and the 67 yarder to Holt. But looking at 1:44 at the end, I knew it was to much time. I wonder if Brown could have hit that 54 yarder outside...probably not. To bad you all can't make it next year, but do understand with school starting.

Hey y'all,

Jim was kind enough to drop me a voice mail today, more or less rubbing it in about how great the ship is (just kidding). He said there is no comparisson to this ship that we have been on.

Jim...you are torturing us. I cannot wait until you get home and tell us all about it.

And not to be indecisive, but we could easily be swayed to the Liberty of the Seas, Eastern route......love the ship and it has St Martin, which I would love to go to again!

Sheree, yes, we like the eastern route also. Unfortunately the Crown & Anchor coupon is for the 9/8/07 western route. We will do whatever everyone else wants to do, the ship is more the destination for us.

Got kicked off there. Wouldn't be surprised if a TA might be able to give a group rate that could maybe beat that and give perks also.

Hmmmm...maybe we should be exploring all options? I know Tommy and Regina would be happy because Regina had a convention or something for work and thought she may need to cancel this cruise. If we go on a different ship in September, it would probably be better for them. I don't know guys, should we start checking out prices as a group on the Liberty of the Seas? And I'd have to say that I prefer to cruise a little earlier in the Fall too...
