i have booked a cruise on the liberty of the seas for september 15th . I did get a very good deal. I know they are still out there. I booked this abvout four weeks ago. i am sure you can find good deals on this exciting new ship by now it should be sailingits first cruise i can not wait to hear the reviews. my kids are so excited about the surfing and all the great activities.

Hi Sunnyday - how nice that you are sailing with us! We're a group of pretty experienced cruisers that met about 5 years ago or so and since then we've tried to cruise together in the Fall each year. We range in age from late 30's to late 40's and we're in Cleveland, Phoenix, and Florida, with a few people who join us from Chicago and Michigan occasionally. Please feel free to post with us and comment on what to do in the ports as we discuss them. Where are you from and what cruises have you been on?
And hello everyone else! We had a great weekend here weather-wise but a not so great weekend for other reasons. A friend of ours, who was in our wedding years ago, died last week and we had to go to the services for him on Saturday. It was quite sad - it's pretty much all we could think about all weekend.
Cris and Dee, I got my new bag today and it looks wonderful! I was a little afraid to open the box because there was a downpour about 30 minutes before I got home. Luckily, everything was dry inside - but I was panicking a little!

Cris - the box was totally soft and mushy from the rain. Usually my postman slides things between the screen door and front door, but for whatever reason, he propped it on a shrub next to the front door. If it's bad weather, they usually don't even leave things and leave a slip to go to the post office to pick it up. Well, when I pulled in the driveway and saw the box, I said "oh no!" but I was thrilled when I brought the soggy box inside and none of the water had leaked through!It was totally dry and so was the tissue around it. It was exactly as I had hoped as far as the size goes - and the colors were even more beautiful. I am going to try to coordinate my wardrobe for Las Vegas to the bag so that I can use it every day that we are there!
Hope everyone else is doing well. I can't believe that April is almost over and we are getting closer to cruise time. Poor George must be really tangled up in construction because he's not checking in much. I am sure they are excited about their short cruise which is only a month away now.

Nothing much going on around here, just preparing for our Mother's Day Tea and getting bags done. I know what you mean about the months flying by it seems it was just January...lol

Cris - the Mothers Day Tea sounds really fun. I can tell you that if we lived in Florida, I'd be there with my mom because we'd both love it!
We're supposed to have a nice weekend again this weekend, so I am looking forward to that, other than the fact that I have to work Saturday morning. I am going to be watching the clock until I can sneak out of there! We're having an Open House to hire nurses, with tours of the units, interviews and snacks. I am hoping to be out of there shortly after noon and I'll either come home to enjoy aft deck time, or I'll head to the mall for a bit and just enjoy deck time on Sunday.

Sorry for the confusion Sunnyday. As Tommy said we started out on a different ship and changed over. We are all now thrilled to be on the Liberty of the Seas!
I don't think I told you guys that my sister in law is booked on her first cruise on June 10th on the Freedom. I am hoping that she and her husband love it. He's a big golfer and he was literally stunned at how expensive the greens fees are on the islands. Plus he'd have to rent clubs. My sister in law said "that can't be right!" Unfortunately, it is. We are trying to figure out a way to send a bon voyage gift to them without them knowing because when I've tried it says that I need to have their reservation number. I am going to call RCCL to see if there is any getting around that because I want it to be a surprise. Have any of you ever received a gift or ordered something for yourselves? I was thinking of this pretty tropical flower arrangement with a note that says "hope you enjoy cruising as much as we do" or something like that. I don't think that they are big on wine - not sure what else to do. Any suggestions?
Anyone hear from Studmuffin? I might need to call and check up on them if George doesn't post soon!

Howdy all,
Greetings from our house ofmadness. The house is starting to take shape. Carpet/Tile/Closets/room extension/new living room furniture/new living room entainment system/ 4 more rooms painted and countless small items have pretty much been completed. New bedroom furniture arrived yesterday and the concrete was poured for our new kool decking today. As evidenced by this post, I am finally back on-line...just not with the dinosaur cumputer I had previously. I went to Costco this past weekend looking for new lighting and sink faucets (did I mention new countertops in a few weeks?), and walked out with a new computer.We are holding a yard sale this weekend to hopefully get ride of half of Anne's wardrobe and shoe store...one can only hope.
Our truck went down again, didn't pass emmissions (do you all have emmission testing?), what a scam! Needless to say, $400.00 later, the man behind the desk noted the little check engine light went out and I passed...what a joke! Does anyone interest in a "lightly" used 2002 Ford Ranger...she's a bute.
I apologize if I didn't go back but a few pages, to much to read. I did notice a new addition; Sunnyday welcome to our wacky group. Please don't be disturbed by my rant. I'm usually quite normal; as those in the group will vouche for...then again, disrergard! I'm looking at the bottom of the page which shows you logged in, please check in with everyone to ask questions, share past cruises, or just shoot the bull (arguably 90% of the chatter). Make sure you give us a little bio...past cruises...those in your group...etc. I'm not sure of your cruise experiences and there are many chiseled vets of the high seas within our group. Of course with me being the youngest in the group, I'm limited in comparrisson to the much older in our group. Don't let their age fool you though, they move pretty fast in those walkers.
Any chatter on the ports going on? What about Miami...Bubba Gumps sound good to everyone...any thoughts?
