On the pulley system, maybe if we attach little RCCL plastic anchors and a life preserver to the rope, we will be mistaken for workers. I do somewhat agree with being somewhat tired of the same eastern/western itineraries. But we would like to go to some of the islands mentioned in Denise's post and a few others found in the exotic caribbean itineraries. I also wouldn't mind going back to Costa Maya and Belize, those were a blast. As Sheree wrote, with Alaska on the horizon for 2009, I would like to be a little more budget counscious for the 2008 cruise. With that stated, there are many cruises to be had to itineraries we haven't been to, for great prices.
And after writing all that, we are in no position to really comit to any specific date or cruise as of yet. Certainly we will be open to whatever the group wants to do, but factors like scheduling of vacation at work keeps us from commiting this early. I'm hopeful we will be far better prepared to lock something in come Sept / October.
Denise, what about RCCL or Carnival? I'm just not sure how I would do on a Princess cruise. Another consideration for us is that we will probably have to take Arrielle on this cruise. It's highly unlikely we will be able to swing a sitter 2 years in a row. Besides, she would be heart broken if she missed out on seeing everyone 2 years in a row. From the reviews I've been reading, Princess just doesn't seem to be a kid friendly, when it comes to activites for them. Ultimately, as Arrielle's cruise experience goes, so does ours.Boredom, lack of activities and the lack of other kids her age all directly impact me and Anne's cruise experience. I know the Princess brochures say they cater to kids, but most reviews reflect the opposite. I'm not saying we aren't open to Princess, just that I would prefer others instead. With that stated, should the group want to try Princess, we wouldn't be offended by no means and we would just have to hook up with everyone in Alaska.
