With the expansion of the Panama Canal increasing the size of the locks to 427 meters (1,400 ft) long, 55 meters (180 ft) wide, and 18.3 meters (60 ft) deep; this will allow the transit of vessels with a beam of up to 49 meters (160 ft), an overall length of up to 366 meters (1,200 ft) and a draft of up to 15 meters.; I would submit that there is a very real possibility that we may eventually see ships along the lines of the PRINCESS KAGUYA.
