Travelocity is your travel agent. They are the only one that Celebrity will discuss your booking with. Call Travelocity and keep after then until you get satisfaction. Do you have it in writing from Travelocity that you will get $100 credited back to your credit card? Or is it a shpboard credit?

Sorry to hear you had a problem Skip. I'm one who has many times questioned why Celebrity customer service can be so good at sea and so poor on shore. I've also said that Celebrity isn't for everybody, and it may be the case with you if you have decided to not sail with them again. I've also had problems in the past with booking arrangements with Travelocity (not a cruise) so I'm not too sure about them, myself.

However, your warning you have posted is unclear. I'm not sure what you are warning us about, or who is at the heart of your problem. It's not clear from your post who promised what. But is seems that Travelocity is your agent, and therefore your dispute should be processed with them. Not that it couldn't happen, but I have never had any problem getting credit back from Celebrity when my TA told me I was to receive a credit to my credit card. And I've had credits posted back several times.

I hope you get this resolved to your satisfaction. It appears you are getting the run-around from someone... I'm just not sure it's from Celebrity.

just so it is clear as to what is going on . travelocity had a deal were you would rec. 100.00 off the price of your cruise if you boked a oceanview stateroom or better and if you paid in full a credit would be made back to your credit card with in 2 or 3 weeks. after 4 weeks i sent a e-mail to travelocity asking about my credit and was told celebrity was the one to give back the credit so i e-mail celebrity to check on the credit.it seems like celebrity would at least e-mail me back if they care at all. and yes i am sorry i booked with travelocity and i hope nobody makes the same mistake as i did i will still enjoy the cruise and 100.00 wil not break or make me but i wish i would have stayed with hol, and a t/a. to bad people like celebrity and travelocity have to lie to get business

Sorry you are having such a bad time, but I really don't think it is with Celebrity.I think it is Travelocity as they are acting on your behalf and they are the ones to be dealing with this.

I would say your problem is with Travelocity and not Celebrity. This does not sound like a Celebrity rebate but more like an agent rebate.

I think you will feel otherwise after sailing on Celebrity. At least I hope you will as they are one of the best and I think you will enjoy yourself. As for the credit I have a deal on my Dec. cruise to get $100.00 back, but it is to be paid to me 4-8 weeks AFTER the cruise is over. And it is from a promo with Travelocity not the cruise line. I won't know until after Dec. if they come through or not. Yes Celebrity could have E-mailed you and told you it did not involve them. But again go on your cruise and you will enjoy it.

I too booked with Travelocity for the offer of getting $100.00 Back. Although I'm sorry to hear you're having troubles getting your money back, it must be an isolated problem, as I got mine back even earlier than promised. Good luck to you with your efforts to get yours back.

IMHO Celebrity is still the best cruise prduct out there. I also used Travelocity to book a Celebrity Alaska cruise that I took Jul27-Aug3, and was also promised the $100 rebate-however I don't think anyone ever said it would be credited back to my card. Just last Friday I received in the Mail a $100 gift card that can be used anywhere that accepts Mastercard-- used just like a credit card. It all seemed fair to me- sorry you are so unhappy.

travlDR,
That is the kind of credit we will be getting after our cruise. I was thinking that maybe this also the kind of credit that Skip is to get. It is the only kind of rebate I have seen on Travelocity .Skip are you sure this is not the kind you are getting? If so you will get a card after your cruise is completed and it will be a Mastercard type credit. It will not be credited to your acct.

Skip, I just looked into Travelocity and they do have a new promo going on at the moment, but it started at the beginng of August. It states that if you put down only a deposit you will get the $100.00 off your total due on your cruise. If you pay in full at time of booking then you will receive a $100.00 credit towards your charge card. Is this the kind of promo you have or the one mentioned above in my last post?

For what it's worth, I was told it would be credited back to my credit card, and that is exactly what happened. I think it took about 1.5 weeks in total before I got the credit to my card. Also....I just have to say, My experience with travelocity was one of the best customer service experiences I've ever had..and I tend to be pretty critical of that, as I'm in the customer service industry.

HI yes i am sure credit was to be put back on my credit card with in 2 0r 3 weeks. and i am sure i will enjoy my cruise, have a bad feeling due to the fact celebrity did not even e-mail back. sure the ship will be great and the crew will be great. i have nothing good to say about travelocity or celebrity office help.and the next time i will know better and i hope anyone that reads this will know better i think that is part of what the net is for to let others know what to look out for. the 100.00 will not stop me from having a great vac. as far as cruise lines i think hol.is the best i have been on , not crying about this just want to let people know about what to look out for. thanks

Skip, in all fairness...although I understand your frustration with Travelocity I am not sure "warning" people about your single issue with them is the right way to go. Have you tried calling their customer service number? I've had occasion to actually phone them 3 times regarding some changes I wanted to make in my travel plans, and they were incredibly accommodating. Have you tried speaking with a Travelocity cruise specialist supervisor. I would highly suggest you give them ample time to fix anything that may need fixing before you put out a blanket warning about the company. Try speaking with a supervisor. I'd be willing to bet you're issue will be handled in a timely manor. When speaking with the supervisor, be sure to let them know the names of those you may have spoken with that didn't give you the service you were looking for. That is truly the only way they can fix a problem. I continue to have awesome service every time I call in. I can't imagine that is by sheer coincidence.

I also found Travelocity customer service very helpfull. I had booked online and and couple of months laters saw they were offering a better deal on a balcony guar. cabin. I just called them and they rebooked for me in minutes with no hesitation or hassle at all. I haven't had too many dealings with Celebrity customer service-- because I have had very little in the way of problems in 6 cruises with them. A couple of real minor things were taken care of right away.

HI thanks for your input. any way you cut it travelocity did not do what they said they were going to do. celebrity would not even take the time to e-mail me back.i wish someone would have told me travelocity and celebrity had a bad service dept. i should have stayed with a t/a and hol. take it for what it is worth , book with them or not however all i can do is tell you the way things are going and warn you if you book with them you my be sorry. that is one good thing about the net you get to hear a lot about what is going on the good and the bad . if they need the 100.00 that bad god bless them i will enjoy my cruise and i have heard the certury is a great ship and has a great crew ,( got that info.from this board ) thanks for your input

Perhaps the reason nobody told you Travelocity has poor customer service is because your incident is an isolated case. Nobody is perfect. I can't stress enough how you need to let them make things right before giving them a bad rap. I reiterate, they have been a delight to work with. I would recommend them without any hesitation.

Re: is celebrity class act

Skip, I'm sorry to hear about your porblems. But if you feel that strongly about your problems then so be it. You situation is isolated and unfortunately has affected your opinion of Celebrity. Stay with HAL, we will all be having a great time on Celebrity. I do recomend that you call Travelocity and not e-mail. It's too easy for e-mails to get lost, accidently deleted or ignored. There is nothing like dealing with a human being instead of the computer. That's why I use Travelocity for reference, but book through my travel agent. A small company travel agent will take the extra step to get you what you need and they can almost always match or beat any deals Travelocity may offer. Enjoy your cruise and maybe I'll run into you on HAL when I'm older.

Re: is celebrity class act

it may be that celebrity needs to bring some of that rebranding to the customer service dept. they may be great at sea but on land ??????. and by the way travelocity is the one who told me it is up to celebrity to post the credit and they are trying to get them to do so. are people on celebrity that much younger them hol.???? maybe someday i can buy you a drink on hol. when you get older c-you
