Staff Captain
He's having more "good" days than bad ones, but I was really worried Monday. His chest CT scan will be tomorrow, as they're looking to see if his Thymus gland is enlarged, as it often is in Myasthenia Gravis. The thymus is large and very active in childhood, because it tells the T-cell lymphocytes to go to the lymph nodes, but it shrinks as the body ages. Many patients with MG have surgery to remove it and it helps considerably if it has indeed become enlarged. He's having fewer side effects from the medicine and is now up to a full dosage regimen of the Mestinon, thank heavens. We'll see what happens next, but at least for now, he's in a better frame of mind.
