M Class Pods -- Info to New Cruisers

Hi Bob,

Sorry if you thought I was saying that other ships have never had any mechanical problems with their ships. Celebrity as well as all other lines do encounter some isolated problems at one time or another and at about the same rate.

This problem with the defect in the propulsion system of the Millennium, Infinity and Summit is altogether different from the isolated problems that have been permanently fixed. This is, as Celebrity themselves has admitted in court, a problem that has affected tens of thousands of cruisers in the past and has gone on for some eight years now.

I think the point this is not isolated problem is easily understood by the rather lengthy list of the number of times this very same problem has cropped up on these three ships. Clearly there is no other class of ships on any other cruise line that has had the exact same problem happen so many times and affected so many cruisers.

Whether or not this is a deal breaker is certainly up to each of us to decide, but at the end of the day it is certainly not a typical problem for all cruise lines and should be given some consideration.

After all, information is what we are all here for isn't it?

It certainly is... hence my post in the first place ...
and that's why I advised of the other ships/lines having troubles. It is pretty clear now that Celebrity has the major problem licked and joins the ranks of the rest of the Lines with their share of problems now and then. If it's made by man it breaks...

The makers of the Mermaid Pods (a French firm) I'm certain sure wish they had done a better job in the first place.
