I have been trying to get onto CC for some time. Nancy said she got on briefly, but darned if I can.
Hi everyone, I'm home, I got home yesterday evening, tired dirty and in bad need of a shower. We had a great weekend. Eight of us got down to the Bureau of Land Management Land at Panoche Hills on Friday afternoon...set up camp, built a campfire and sat around and talked all evening. Hot dogs and Turkey Burgers for dinner. Next morning we woke up to a sunny, warm day....a lot of dew, but that soon dried up. Five more people showed up, one with a camping trailer and one with a camper. Dinner that evening was Beef Stew served in hollowed out round french breads with a nice salad....some wine and beer. Dessert was an Ice Cream Sundae Bar with four different kinds of ice cream, cherries, five different toppings, whipped cream and bananas. Anthony had packed the ice cream in dry ice and only he, Matthew and I knew what was coming, so everyone was flabargasted when they saw the dessert table set up.
Matthew had put some dry ice in a water bottle...when you do that it blows up after a few seconds, so you have to throw it away from you....of course, this particular time, Trousers decides to go fetch it....everyone was yelling at him to drop it when it exploded in his mouth...he was in total shock and ran right back to me....when I was checking him out and comforting him, I noticed that he was crying....I've never seen a dog cry before....it was so sad. No harm done...we took him for a walk up the hill and he soon forgot about the ordeal.
John really enjoyed himself. I also understand that the bridal shower held here was a success also. Lots of nice gifts....glad I wasn't around for it.
