Update on Ian
My, how time flys!
Ian has now had 6 surgeries on his arm, the most recent just before Thanksgiving. This surgery was to remove scar tissue that had flexors and tendons in his arm locked up so he could not move his fingers or wrist. He has been going through PT twice daily since then and reports he has more movement, but still no feeling in his fingers. He said they plan on doing nerve grafts sometime after the New Year, probably more like Feb or March. The bone still has a lot of healing to do, x-rays don't show a lot of calcifcation just yet, but that happens with young men.
We are on page 1 of the cruise tracker ! Yippee! Can't wait to pick him up at the airport in Orlando and get the holidays started.
I just wanted to take time to thank everyone for their prayers and concerns during this stressful time. I don't always post a lot, and wanted to make sure that you know that we do appreciate the thoughts and good wishes. We were very lucky this wasn't much more serious than it was, his buddy who was hurt in the same attack is still at Walter Reed.
If anyone is looking for a worthwhile organization to help out this season, please consider Soldiers Angels, especially the chapter in Germany. These volunteers help provide clothes, activities, and more to the wounded who come into Landstuhul hospital before they are sent on to other hospitals. They really need help right now, a group in CA that was donating clothes, blankets and other items had EVERYTHING stolen from a trailer this past week, just before it was to be shipped out to Germany.
Thanks C@ friends, and Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to All!
