We are sailing June 12th Eastern Caribbean, again. As we live in South Texas, the Western Caribbean really holds no appeal for us. We're practically there already! Our first cruise was on the Grand in 2000. When Princess told us early last year they would not be in the Caribbean in 2003, we booked on Holland America. HA atmosphere was not to our liking though the Zuiderdam was a nice ship. We prefer Princess and have no complaints. The crew on Princess was much more amiable and more attentive. We chose the Caribbean Princess because we anticipate the same courteous and attentive service we received on the Grand. We booked early so we could get the same room number we had on the Grand. Princess was very accommodating.

We just got back from the Grand (my 3rd time) and it was a WONDERFUL experience as it always is. We just love the Princess line, and we have been on many other lines to compare. In our opinion Princess is no comparision to other lines.
We are scheduled to go on the May 15 sailing of the Caribbean Princess. I chose the Eastern Caribbean as my girlfriend (first cruise) is from New Mexico and I felt she would more appreciate the Eastern Caribbean. Although I like ALL the Caribbean; Southern, Eastern, Western as long as I'm on a Princess ship it really doesn't matter to me.
I chose the Caribbean Princess because it's a new ship, and I just KNOW it will be a fantastic cruise, food, entertainment, friendly accomodating staff with as much to do as you want to do. We are also going on the Coral Princess in Sept to the Pamama Canal. Princess is "Where we Belong."

I'm booked on this ship for Oct. 30, '04. My fellow Cruise@ddict buddy, Rose, and I were looking for another Princess ship to sail on next Fall. We want to resail with two other wonderful ladies...Cruise@ddicts that we met on this board last Fall. New is always exciting, and ever since they first announced this ship, we've been quite intrigued by it. Loved the Grand, so this seemed like a natural next choice. I'm really looking forward to all those reviews from our forerunners who'll get to enjoy it before me.

Hi:

We are sailing May 1st, Eastern Caribbean on the Caribbean Princess. I like the layout and some of the features of the Grand Class ships, and the fact that it will be brand new, but the primary reason we decided on Princess was the pricing of the GS category cabin versus similar cabins on other lines -- Celebrity, HAL, and RCCL were much higher for equal or less square footage. Plus this will be our first cruise with Princess and we wanted to see how the line stacks up against the competitors. Based on the comments on the message boards, I get the feeling that Princess Service is what is going to stand out versus the others, with dining, entertainment, and the other features likely to be good to very good.

Dear Lady Jaq,

My husband and I are taking our first Cruise on the Caribbean Princess on November 27, 2004. We had originally considered doing the Western on the Grand, but thought this would be a good chance for us to be on a "new" boat. I think it will be great. It's a cruise ship, how bad can it be.

Have you seen the new 2004-2005 brochure? It's really nice looking compared to their others. They added more to it. I'll be anxious to hear all about your cruise! :)

Casinoair, not to second guess your decision because I don't have a feel for comparative pricing. However, note that your GS suite is about half the size of a PS suite on just about any HAL ship and there is no comparison as to the amenities that come with the HAL PS suites, which include free laundry and dry cleaning, personlized stationary, exclusive use of the Neptune Lounge and an exclusive brunch with the Captain and Hotel Manager, to name a few. I believe Celebrity has similar amenities with their PS which are even larger than HAL's; 1432 sq ft with an 1100 sq ft balcony. Amenities include concierge service and ensuite gym equipment and your own fax machine. Having said all of that, I,m sure you will be pleased with Princess' service, but IMHO some other cruiselines do it better.

We received our Princess Captains Circle Magazine, they are offering a special on the Caribbean Princess. The third pax pays only $99, we are thinking of this for June with our grandaughter.

It usually means those 3rd & 4th passengers in balcony cabins are more (something like $199 per person more) and those in suites are $299 per person (or something like that). Looks like a good offer!

We just got off Golden Princess. It was a great cruise. The food, service and entertainment was great. However, the theater and show lounge were always filled. You had to get there a half hour early to get any seat, earlier for the better seats. It was difficult to find a table at the buffet. You had to wait a lot for elevators. I can't imagine having an additional 500 passengers on board. I think that we will bypass the Caribbean Princess.
