Roger, why did you change cruise lines ? I like Princess very much. They have everything we look for in a cruise vacation. But I am close to booking a cruise vacation on the Mariner of the seas in Dec just for a change.......is there something I should know about RCCL ???? thanks gary

"is there something I should know about RCCL ???? " Nope. We have never been on either cruise line. I booked the Mariner a while ago but since have kept looking to see what 's out there. Princess is a little lower price but we saved more on airfare to Fort Lauderdale instead of flying in to Orlando. Also dining options, outdoor movie and not going to Nassau were other factors. As far as dining options have you tried personal choice dining and what are your thoughts on it. Still haven't decided on choice or traditional option.

We will also be on the 12/26/04 cruise with our 18 year old son and DH's parents. We chose this cruise primarily because of the date. Last Christmas was on the Zuiderdam so we thought we would try Princess again.

I have always arranged for Traditional dining on all the cruise vacations we have gone on. I have 3 children ( 14,12 and 9 ...we vacation as a family). We tried the personal choice dining once on the Grand and it was very good also....except you could have a different table and staff each evening.Myself I like traditional just for the I know what to expect each evening.

We are sailing April 24 on the Caribbean Princess and looking forward to it. This will be our 4th cruise, but 1st on Princess. We booked a BB Cat room on the AFT, I am hoping it will be as great as we think. The one thing that we are wondering about is if you look on the back of the Grand there are white beams that go down the ship, we are wondering if the Caribbean Princess will have those and will they block the view on some of the balcony rooms in the Aft.

msswiss - As far as I know, the only aft cabins to have the 12 inch wide beam is the Vista Class suites. We had one and the beam did not bother us at all. The BB cabins have balconies that are half the size of the suites and have a full view of the wake. Just be prepared for more movement and noise back there.

May 1st sailing for me as well. It's a 50th b-day surprise for my hubby. I won a cuise in 1997 and we went Western on the Sun Princess and they put us in a balcony cabin. It was the best vacation we ever had. I just got a brochure in the mail last week from Princess and was reading about it and it sounded just awesome. I hope my husband will be pleasantly surprised. I have a feeling he's expecting an all-inclusive trip to a hotel in Cancun.

We are booked on the Caribbean Princess for the April 10th sailing to the Western Caribbean. Got a great deal on a balcony cabin. We were on the Grand Pricness last May and loved it so booked a similar cabin the Caribbean. We always do traditional late seating.

With the Ohio winter we're having, can't wait for April!

Winter's in Ohio are like being a vegetarian. You don't live any longer, but it seems like it.
