As some of you already know my dear friend and cruise buddy Jim LeFevers passed away yesterday (January 1 st.) in North Carolina. Jim was on the Mosaic and Alaska cruise with some of you. He fought such a courageous battle with Cancer for almost two years. Jim loved to cruise. He was always so much fun to be around. Most of my Joe and I cruises have been with Jim and his wife Patty. Jim was so disappointed that because of his illness that he had to cancel the New Orleans cruise last December on the Dream with some of the cruise addicts. All he talked about was wanting to go on one more cruise. So the doctors answered his request and loaded him up with pain meds to make a cruise. My Joe & I were blessed to be with Jim & Patty on his final cruise on the Dream out of New Orleans in October. He was in a lot of pain but he was so happy to be on a ship one more time. I feel so fortunate to have had Jim & Patty as our dear friends all these years. He will be missed!!

I had no idea Jim had cancer, but I can certainly understand his wish for one more cruise. More power to his doctors! I just feel so sorry for Patty, and hope she finds peace in the face of Jim's horrible disease. When I worked with cancer patients, I can truthfully say that the disease made us very angry, because we couldn't always help those we treated. Perhaps one of these days we can find cures for the life robbing nemesis called cancer.

Sending heartfelt condolences to you and all who knew Jim. It's clear from your words that he was a cherished friend and a true lover of cruising. His determination to enjoy one last cruise despite his illness is incredibly inspiring. May his memory and the joyful moments you shared together bring you comfort during this difficult time.
