I'm looking for reviews from anyone who has used Soto's Cruises. I'm interested in doing the 3-stop snorkel trip in Grand Cayman.

We just got back from GC. We did a snorkel trip with Captain Bryan's. I highly recommend them. Can't comment on Soto's, but I noticed many of their tour buses around the island. Is there a particular reason why you were looking at Soto's?

bretdeb, I found Soto's on a web search and the trip was listed at $10 less per person; this amounts to $40 for my family of 4.

We went with Soto's in Sept. - at that time it was $19 for 3 stops - worked out great and quite a value for the money - clean boat and clean equipment. Picked us up near the pier and brought us back. This was my 1st time snorkeling, so I had problems at the 1st stop, did better at the 2nd and stingray city was unbelievable. Highly recommend Soto's.

We are booked with Soto's. We are on the Inspiration, May 23rd.
I haven't read anything bad about Soto's and everyone that has used them were very happy. And the price was less then every one else, But if I had read bad reviews, I would have used someone else.

By the way, can you give us information on how you liked Soto's Snorkeling? And, how to sign up? I see Bob Soto's Diving adventures, but nothing on the Snorkeling trips to Sting Ray City.

Thanks...

Joe.

Thanks Leahmichele!

Only one correction. The website is www.sotoscruises.com. The site you listed took me to one of those sites trying to make money on misspelled websites.

I did a google search on Soto Cruises and it came right up! Thanks...

Joe.

Hello, we used Sotos last week and they were great. They were professional and nice. The boat they take you on has a bathroom and drinks provided. They supply all equipment, and are great with kids. I would highly recommend them to anyone. The cost was $100 for 2 adults and 2 kids age 10 and 11. This excursion was a blast!!

We also used Sotos with beccabt and we loved them. The price was cheaper then booking on the ship and I think there were less than 20 people on our boat. I also would highly recommend them. How may times can you say you swam with stingrays, an eel and a nurse shark?

Thanks for the feedback. To answer your question:"How may times can you say you swam with stingrays, an eel and a nurse shark?"...

Currently Zero. I am really looking forward to this trip.

Can you tell me if you needed to contact Soto again by phone? I've set it up via their internet website, but they sent me an email back about contacting them before we arrive. I was kind of confused by that message.

Also, we are going to be going out of Tampa FL on the Sensation. Does anyone know where we can expect to lose Cell phone signal?

Thanks so much!

Joe,
I don't remember what my e-mail had on it, it is on my computer at home. But we did not contact them again once I booked on line. I just printed it and made sure I took it with me in case I needed to contact them and the directions where to meet them. I will look at my e-mail again when I get home. You will love it.

I'm not sure about the cell phone thing. I do remember a couple of girls the night before we got to the Tampa port around midnight saying that they got a signal on the top decks and we didn't port until 8, 8:30 that morning we were still out a ways from Tampa and got a signal.

Is it a long walk to the Soto's van? They want us to meet there at 8:30 and I'm worried that we'll have some trouble getting the tender out early? boat docks at 7:00. Oh, what time is breakfast served?

Hey Travelin Family.

You are aware that Grand Cayman is on EST without DST. That means if your boat docs at 7:00am (Florida time EST with DST), you are actually arriving at 8:00am (island time). If you are to meet the van at 8:30, you only have 30 minutes, not 1hr and 30 minutes.

Others who have been through this situation. Am I right? I'm in the same boat (not literally).

The dining room opens at 7;00 am on port days, Lido opens at 6 am with limited b-fast. We ordered room service, coffee and danish and cereal for kids. The walk is not long at all. One thing I noticed is that Sotos seemed to give everyone in our group a different meeting time. Some people got there very early and waited. E-mail them with your meeting time and ask for a confirmation. Also double check but I';m 99% positive Grand Cayman, Cozumel and Costa Maya are all 1 hour behind ships time. So if you get there at 7 am it is actually 6 am for them. Belize is 2 hours behind. I remember not actually getting off the ship until 9 am ship time to meet them at 8:50 tour time. We actually were off the ship and tendered to shore in about 15 minutes total. Hope I didn';t confuse you ...........lol

Thanks for the clarification. Looks like you get 2 and 1/2 hrs for breakfast Travelin Family! But, for me, that means my ship is leaving at 1:00pm instead of 3:00pm. That cuts it a little close!

Thanks again Beccabt!

This whole time thing has me so confused. Our ship (Inspiration) is suposed to get into GC at 7:00 AM. I notice that Soto's early tour goes from 9:30 until I think 1:00. On my watch on the ship, is that going to mean 8:30 - 12:00 or is it 10:30 - 2:00???? So confusing for us 1st timers. We're just trying to be very careful with times, so we're not late getting back to the ship. I sure don't want to start out our vacation at the first port, having to "swim" all the way to Cozumel LOL

Thanks for any help you can give me on this

We went on the early tour and we were back in plenty of time. In your Carnival caper there is a daily update on the time, also they had a meeting to make sure everyone understood the time changes. We also went down to the info desk every night before our tour to double check. Never change your watch from ship time and make sure to tell the tour guide what time you have to be back. They are professionals who rely on tourists for their livelihood they don't want you to miss the ship anymore than you do. The whole time change thing is confusing but try to relax and when in doubt ask lots and lots of questions! ha ha
