Rough seas is the understatement! Leon and I did that cruise in December several years ago and that's when we had the 25 foot waves. True story now - we went to the dining room for lunch and the drapes were pulled over the windows. Being the curious person, I pulled the drape back and there was a fish staring at me! This was Golden Princess where the dining room is on the fifth deck!!!!

I don't think that I would consider a european cruise for the trip from calif to new york was a long flight for me and am glad that next two cruises are one out of calif and the alaska one only two hours about to Seattle.

And you pay a premium for the privilege of less-than-perfect weather if you're doing a Holiday cruise! I always urge my friends NOT to consider travel there at that time of year.

Ahh, my dear Calgon. With all the European river cruising venues, we would need far more than simply la langue française .

The only trouble is that "Canard à l'orange" is a popular dish - I could be accused of cannibalism suggesting a Duck Crew cruise in Europe, much as I personally would love it.

Had that (a double serving actually) on the Duckingdam. NewMoon and Bug just kept giving me the evil eye(s) ...
