Sorry for the thread drift. I'll try to keep this brief.
We dined in the smaller dining room, slightly forward of the main dining room on the starboard side. This was set aside for traditional dining, yet a portion of the larger dining room was also used for that purpose. We enjoyed the smaller dining room as it was quieter and every table had an ocean view (although not all tables are up against the windows). Our table was near the foot of a spiral staircase that led up to the Explorer's Lounge, where we often went after dinner to listen to live music. We also enjoyed Ocean Bar and its dance floor (not that we're any good... we mainly watched). Both were very convenient to our dining room.
I can't think of why starboard might be preferable for a Lido Deck suite, other than that Neptune Lounge is on port side and might get more foot traffic? Not that there would be much. I can't speak to this first-hand, though, as I didn't venture to this part of the ship.
