I am very sorry that you lost Spike. Whenever one of us loses a fury family member it tears at my heart because I know how much it hurts. Remember the good times you shared, and know Spike is pain free now.

Sorry, again.

I can't imagine doing what you did. We may have to do that with our little dog, too, as he is not well. All I can say is that he must really, really love you for releasing him from pain. Remember him alive and jumping, wagging his tail and eating his bagels. I'm hoping that will comfort you.

Rubysky,

I am so very sorry for your loss of Spike. How sad when we have to let a beloved pet go. I know your heart is heavy with loss. Take care and keep his memory close.

Regina, I just read your thread. I am so sorry to know you had to go through this. I've been through it too many times, and I know that even knowing you did the right thing, at the right time, it still doesn't make it easier. Our lives are so wrapped around our furbabies, that even after we are gone, we start to talk to them, or we see them out of the corner of our eyes. It takes a while to let go. Grieve at your own rate. It's what is right for you. And to be the one there with him was a great blessing and a curse. Not how you want to remember him, but I would bet you wouldn't have had it any other way.

How is your other dog taking it? He needs so much of your love and understanding right now. DH too.

Hugs to you all.

Glorya

What a horribly difficult decision for you to make, even though we all know it made Spike's situation much better for him! I'm crying with you.

My heartful prayers on this sad day. I sit here with tears running down my cheeks as I look at my two little one and hope I have the strength to make the right decision like you did when the time comes. They are truly a comfort and love to us during their life times.

Forgive me for adding my condolences so late....

I've come to realize that losing a beloved furbaby is one of the hardest things anyone can go through. Hopefully the memories of all the good times you had with Spike will bring a smile to your face and wipe away the tears you've shed in the past few weeks.
