Good morning gang. A frosty morning here but supposed to be in the low 60s today.

Finally got to listen to the morning news as I was getting ready and not a single political ad! Loved reading a column in the morning paper where the writer said the first thing reporters should ask the winners is if it is being fiscally responsible to spend $60 million for a job that pays $174,000 a yr. I don't expect to see much change. Republicans will continue to fight with each other and of course republicans and democrats will continue to fight each other. They will continue to spend very little time in Washington, won't put in a 5 day work week, will collect their perks, and will make friends in high places so they can be guaranteed a high paying cushy job when they leave office. And those friends with deep pockets will be knocking at the door to collect on their political favors. The rest of us will just be sitting on the sidelines watching. No. I don't see anything changing.

As I said it is chilly here with temp in the low 30s. One mom came in carrying her little girl's coat (she will turn 2 at the end of the mo). She said she can't get her to put her coat on. This happens every single morning but it is really chilly out there this morning. Excuse me! You are the parent. Take charge. Pick the kid up & put the coat on! What does she intend to do in Jan when it is below zero? Plus the kid has a cold and has been dripping snot for over a week now but we wouldn't want to force this child to wear a coat.

Donna, hope the mother-in-law situation is moving along for you.

Jacquie, hope things are improving for both you and Leon.

Nieciez, thinking about you.

Making a pot of chili for supper tonight. Plan to go out and get my nails done as soon as the kids are gone.

Not much else happening round here. Enjoy your day.

Good morning everyone. Cool here this morning and it rained all night - not sure what the day will bring!

Woke up with a runny nose this morning -wish this damn cold would all come together - one day the sore throat, one day an upset tummy, next day runny nose - enough already!

I only have to work today and tomorrow then am off for 5 days - woo hoo! going to the states for the annual shopping trip with my cousins on Friday. They're not coming down til Saturday morning this year so I'll have all of Friday to myself - get to do what I want, when I want and where I want!! Then will meet up with them Saturday for the usual shopping then dinner and a hot tub together! It's our 25th year or something like that and I really look forward to it every year.

Then only 2 more weeks after that til we leave on our cruise!

Kathy - it seems the kids are ruling the parents these days - not in my day for sure!

have a great day everyone.

Morning all. Kathy it is such a shame so many children are being raised with out rules and discipline. Yes let them make choices but have guidelines. Jan you are so lucky to have Brian and Becky to help. Think Billy is going to Bolivar with us tomorrow. Donna is the delay with home or an agency.? Hope elections will help congress to do something. Jacquie is Leon home? Terry enjoy your days off and shopping. Good wishes. Hugs

Good morning. So*far it is a cloudy dry morning but this is the west coast & it is November so*anything is possible.

I hear you about kids ruling! If my kids had tried any of those tricks they would have bounced off a wall. But their kids anything goes except Sara & James. They tried to but it never went very far. Mom had a strong voice & Dad had long legs & caught up*with them very fast!

The sniffles & sore throats that are going around are weird. I was thinking that I was going to have to go to the clinic today but so far I seem to be better than I was. It helps that I had a great sleep last night.

Must get at this room & tidy it up but I have been saying that for some time but it never seems to get done. Maybe today!

HAVE A GREAT HUMP DAY.

Good morning ramblers. It is a lovely morning here. Sun is shining, the mountains are beautiful...and covered in a new coating of snow. The pups really loved their little run outside this morning and the brisk air cleared my head. It's 28F this morning with a promise of 47 this afternoon. I am now enjoying my morning cuppa and my little fellows are curled up by the fireplace.

Yesterday I made a pot of soup....a huge pot of soup. It was time to get that turkey carcass from Thanksgiving out of the freezer so I can make way for the carcass when Christmas comes! :boogie: I was on my own for dinner and I ate a huge bowl of it with a fresh biscuit. When I cleared everything up I froze half of it thinking DH would be home for dinner tonight. As it happens he will not be home until after dinner so I might end up freezing what is left (after I get a bowl lifted out for my lunch) then I might just have a sandwich for my supper tonight. I don't think I will want to face soup again.

Did some scrapping yesterday. I am making a "Tropical Travelogue" scrapbook for my buddy. I will present it to her when we get together on Maui next year. How I am looking forward to that! .....and I am looking forward to being back on Maui in 2016 too....a little family reunion is in order and my granddaughter is so excited to be going to Hawaii. I feel a bit of a fraud here because although I love cruising I do love Maui more....and here is a little bit more heresy....I adore the Los Angeles area and I am looking forward to a time when we will be able to leave the cold winter of the BC mountains one year and spend at least a month there.

Nothing on my agenda today. The house is clean (enough) and all the laundry is caught up. I will take the dogs for their "long" walk after lunch, I will walk my 30 minutes on the treadmill because the dogs just don't walk fast enough for me, I will spend some time at the scrapbook table and tonight I will watch Survivor (my weekly trash) and Hawaii Life (HGTV...I think it is the beginning of the new series). In between these exciting activities I will read my new Jan Karon book, Somewhere Safe with Somebody Good. This book is, thankfully, a return of Father Tim to Mitford and I am enjoying it!

Because I love Hawaii...and because I wish everyone the opportunity to visit and see for themselves I offer today's quote from Mark Twain commenting on Hawaii!

"The loveliest fleet of islands that lies anchored in any ocean"

Have a wonderful day everyone. Stay safe and be happy in it!

Hey gang - good to see so many posting. Sorry I did not see this thread when I posted! lol

Sun is still shinning here but it is cool and rain is on the way.

Kids say the grand babies are doing great and they don't think they need help just yet. So, I am on hold for visiting them.

Called Nursing home again this am and got the admin's voice mail again. Will call again later today if I do not hear from her. Then if she does not return call by tomorrow I am going to her office and camping out until I talk to them. We had a meeting last Thursday and they showed up rooms and everything. Said all they needed was drs. orders - told them again they had them - but ran other copy over for her and still have not heard anything. Jim says I should wait - so I said ok - but I am on a plane 11/17 with or without you! lol So, he agreed we should go talk to them tomorrow. I would like to get her in and settled before we leave!

Got the house cleaned and mil settled in for the day. Jim is running errands and then when he gets back we will be putting all the summer stuff up for storage. (patio table & chairs, nick nacs, etc.)

Nothing big for me today. Hope you all have a great day! Be careful and enjoy!
