Where to stay in Seattle?

Has anyone booked a hotel on Priceline for Seattle?

Just curious what hotel are being offered (or should I say what hotels people are getting), what rates have been bid and what star category the hotels are listed under.

I always book on Priceline and get wonderful results, great prices and hotels. However, that is always Florida and I have no idea about hotels in Seattle.

Many thanks

regarding the comment about staying and the airport, then going into to see the town the next morning before going to the cruise ship....

You will need to figure out what to do with your luggage. Personally, for a few more bucks, I would travel into town. Traffic at night would problably be better. You can begin to get a feel of the city. Maybe go into a little eatery somewhere for a late dinner or drink. then you are already downtown in the morning. You can leave your bags with the hotel and then pick them up on the way to the ship.

Just a thought.

I bid a three * in Seattle through Priceline and got The Vance. I am very disappointed. Reviews say it has "airplane size bathrooms" only 1 full size bed per room, mold on walls, etc. I contacted Priceline and questioned if this was really a three star. They are impossible to deal with if you have a problem. In fact you can't deal with them.I would rather use Hotels.com and know where I was staying. We have had great luck with them.

I booked rooms in Seattle through priceline for two nights before our cruise and one night after. We got the Red Lion for the two nights before, and the Vance for the two nights after. I'm a little concerned about the Vance after reading Ready to Cruise's post. I've almost always had very good luck with priceline in the past.

Ready to cruise, where did you read the review on the Vance?

I did a serach on Google for "Vance Hotel" +reviews. There were several different sites that had reviews. Some are good comments, but they are based on close to shopping and low price. I just don't think, based on what I have read that it should be listed as a 3 star hotel. Fordor's ( I think) lists it as a "Budget Hotel".

Ready to Cruise,

Thanks, I checked out the reviews, it looks like some loved the Vance and some hated it, I guess I will just have to wait and see. One night won't be too bad. When do you stay there? We stay on August 6, so if you are staying sooner would you please post your impression of the Vance once you do? Thanks.

We are arriving in Seattle by RV. We have accomodations, but does anyone know the best place to park it while onboard Diamond Princess? I know there is RV parking at the pier, but wondering if that is the best.

Thanks,
Sue

I've checked Hotwire and there are two selections downtown, Space Needle and Pike Place. Which is the area that you selected for the Red Lion? I'm going to try Hotwire for July 10th and hope I get a good deal.

I didn't check hotwire, however, I got the Red Lion through Priceline. My guess would be to use Pike Place, the Red Lion is very close to there.

It looks like our flight home in July might be a night time departure after arriving back to the dock in Seattle in the morning. What are the best suggestions for what to do during the day until a 10 pm flight? What should we do with our luggage?
Would it be best to rent a car for the day, or are there other options?
Thanks

hi everybody

im so glad i came across this post.

we will be staying 2 nights post cruise for some sightseeing before we come home. of course we will be very limited on funds by then, so getting the most out of the hotel will be very important to us. we want a breakfast buffett, free shuttle to some of the sights and a nice clean and safe room. i will keep checking hotwire to see if any hotels come up that have the amenities we want right downtown and if not i will probably decide on booking with a certain hotel. after doing much research and the good reveiws i have read i am going to look into the price of the comfort suites by the needle. they have the buffet, free shuttle service to downtown and it is a nice place to stay. i just hope i get a good price for the room. it will not be until nex may, so i am hoping the rates will be cheaper than in the summer months.

if anyone has stayed here please post and let me know if it is one of the better ones by the needle.
