It is like I said before ----------------

No bad cruises
Only bad cruisers.

That is just the way it is with anything.
We were on a flight that was having problems getting off the ground. People were starting to get cranky to say the least. My husband & I started clowning around and before you know it most of the people around us were joining in. The stewardess brought us all bottles of whatever we wanted to go with our free pop. She just kept thanking us. If you want to have fun you can.....

If there is a bad situation "anywhere" try to make the best of it and you know things can really become fun...... You can even make some fantastic friends.

I have been a travel writer for 17 years and am always fascinated by this. I think a lot of the people who hate Carnival would be no fun to travel with! There are people who trash cruises all together, and generally I find they've never been on one. Also, if you've only been on a 3 or 4 day cruise, in my experience you still haven't been on a cruise. . . .

Personally, I won't go on Norwegian again unless it's free, but that's just my opinion. I've been on a few cruises (a majority listed in my signature). Impressions: I was most bored on Clipper, most impressed on Wind Star, most uncomfortable on Windjammer, and had the most fun on the Carnival Glory in September/October 2003. I'd do all of them again except Norwegian. Tip for the Glory: The dinner club (we ate up there 4 times) was second to no experience that I've had, and I am spoiled – so that's saying something!

I leave for my next Carnival cruise 3 weeks from today! Not soon enough!

I've been on 9 Carnival cruises. Loved them all. Sure there were things that didn't always go just as planned, but that's life!

I like SantaFeJim would love to try Holland America (especially the new Vista-Class ships), but unfortunately I'm so turned off by the petty bickering on the CC HAL boards (almost always instigated by the "regulars") that I've yet to test the waters there.

Hi there,
Please dont be discouraged by Carnival bashers! Carnival provides a wonderful cruise experience at an excellent price. I have cruised on Carnival, Norwegian and Celebrity, and have no complaints with either company. The only thing I can say is that Celebrity offers some nice extra touches of class, but of course Celebrity is also often a bit more expensive. I have to say however that I rate my Carnival cruise very high, because, among other things, I had the most wonderful tables mates, and because I was sailing solo, these people made my cruise experience special by going out of their way to include me, and dinner became the highlight of my day! Of course this could have happened on any cruiseline. Besides this, I went to my cruise with no preconcieved ideas from the other cruises. I went with an open mind and of the things I liked about Carnival the most were, (besides my dinner company) were; the cabin space, ( the biggest cabin I have ever had), the 24 hour pizza and ceasar salad, ( it sure cures those 4pm cravings, when dinner is not till 8) and Im sure this is just a fluke, but on my last eveing in the casino, I won over 700.00, with minimal investmest!. So take heart, and go and enjoy your cruise. Relax or go nuts, or just something in between, you can do either on Carnival.!

We just go off of a Celebrity cruise where we met some wonderful tablemates and verteran cruisers. They all hate Carnival. DH and I think both lines have their good points. I plan on taking DH on a Carnival cruise this summer(don't tell him). We have been on both now and will go on both again. Carnival when we need to save a few bucks and Celebrity when we want to splurge. I am sure we will try other lines along the way. Carnival for the whole family and other lines when it is just us.

Carnival is great bargin and a great cruise.

I am cruising Carnival for the 13th time- Glory in April! I have never been on another cruise line, and don't plan to start now. Carnival has ALWAYS lived up to or exceded our expectations for a cruise vacation. I started out with the 3 day cruise and finally have made it to the 7 day. I remember the first cruise very well- It was on the Carnivale in 1983. This was no cruise ship as compared to the mega ships of today. Our cabin was so small, you could shower, potty and sleep in the same area (practically)!! Carnival usually upgrades us each year, once to Cat 11 and this year to the grand penthouse on the Pride. I have never been sea sick, sent a meal back, or been disappointed in anything. Some folks just expect way too much- or find fault with every minor glitch. Lighten up- have a Miami Vice and be glad you aren't cooking.

so very true... It's so funny hearing people complaining.. ohhhhh the ship is rocking is the most funniest complaint yet. The ship is rocking so the stabilizers must not be working :lol

The waiters are taking too long, There's too much cream in my coffee, drop me off at the next port and fly me back home!! JEEZ!! :lol

I have been on Victory and Pride...and hated both of them...ambience...the cruise was fine; the food was fine; the staff was fine; the shows were fine; the room was fine....I just did not like the decor!!! I am more comfortable on the RCCL mega ships...just got off the Mariner of the Seas...and it is majestic!!!!
Now, having said all of that...I see where you are going on the Paradise this month...and I wanted to ask you , as a favor...if you would write me when you get back your opinion...We are seriously looking at that ship for September 04...to trans the Panama Canal in repositioning her in Calif. Because we have to spend 2 weeks on Paradise I am wondering if I can live with it...
I would appreciate your evaluation if you are willing to share it with me..Thanks a lot, JanKen_2001 wrote:

i'd be glad to share. i know one thing -- on the past two cruises i've had balconies and got instantly addicted to that. since balconies are virtually impossible to get on paradise (except true suites), i know that will bother me. i'll let you know how i feel about the rest. are you a non-smoker?
