Anna,

You weren't kidding that you booked some excursions! LOL! You and Marlene are making the most of your time. I will take a look and see what I can do.

I am coming from LA, so it is not like getting away from bad weather. We are getting in around 6p and staying at the Marriott. We hope to get to the ship early to check in and starting relaxing.

I really appreciate your inviting me and know I will be joining you on some of these.

Counting the days! I have a business trip to the Philippines before this, so at least I won't be sitting at home waiting.

His name is Lyle Fleming and he lives in La Union for about 20 years now, the last time he was back to Canada was 9 years ago, maybe someday I'll go visit him, as you can tell we are not close! I have met a lot of great people from the Philipines on Holland America ships. Have a good trip, & we will meet you on the Zaandam! Anna

Greetings everyone, we are finally back from our vacation in England and Spain, plus we went down to Gibraltar for the day also. Was planning on going over to Morrocco but after the terrible incident in Madrid we decided against it. Any way, we are back and looking forward to our cruise. I just left the luggage upstairs in the bedroom....no need in putting it away, right?

We arrive in Orlando on the 20th at 10.30am and HAL booked us into the Rennaissance hotel. We are mid 60`s, I have auburn hair...courtesy of Clairol!! Joe is African American and I speak with a distinct English accent! We`ve been married for 44 years...travel almost non stop now we are retired, love a drink and a good time. Will be glad to meet up with you in the aft pool area for sailaway. BTW my docs say 5 formal, 5 informal and 11 casual....see you later....jean

Hi Anna, we don`t do a lot of booked tours these days as Joe walks with a cane, (thanks to 20 yrs in the Air Force and Viet Nam in particular!) but have booked a tour in Colombia...scared to do that one by ourselves!, also booked to see the cliff divers in Acapulco, and a boat tour in Cabo..the other ports we`ll probably just catch a cab or just hang out...jean

Hi Jean,
I sure hope we get to stop in Cartagena, it's been avoided lately and I would like to visit Columbia.... I loved watching the Cliff Divers especialy at night, very exciting.... Marlene & I hae been to Nicaragua before so we are just going to wander through the small village at the dock , our last visit we went all day to the Masaya Volcanio and never got the chance to check it out....We are sailing all the way to Vancouver as we are from Calgary, Alberta, but don't have any plans for Los Angeles, don't really know if there is anything we would like to do there...... See you at sailaway in 14 days! Take care.

Just back from a business trip to the Philippines. Received word that the hotel we had booked at (Marriott) is oversold and being moved to the Renaissance.

Starting to get so excited! Can't believe after waiting for over a year that we are less than two weeks away!

Aloha
Jean & Joe,
Anna & Marlene,
Angie & Mom (& Uncle & his wife :)

Virginia and I are all set. We're leaving on 4/15 so we can visit some relatives on the way to Port Canaveral. We're looking forward to meeting everyone, but we're a bit confused. Where are we meeting?

I think someone suggested we meet in the Lido buffet restuarant, Port side during sailaway. Is that the plan?

See you all soon,
Lawrence & Virginia

I can not believe we are so close to leaving. My boss is freaking out with me being gone. Trying to tie up everything so that my leaving is as smooth as possible. He wants a number for the ship and I am considering telling him we don't have one. LOL!

Betty - mom
Rose - aunt
Steve - uncle

They all live in St. Louis, so I have been talking to them and planning packing lists, etc. I get to Orlando before they do, so I will meet them at the hotel. Since HAL changed our hotels the hotel gave us a $50 credit so I am sure we will have a quiet dinner there and an early nights sleep. Not sure I will be able to sleep before getting on the ship.

How early is everyone planning on going over? I know is shows embarkation at 3pm, but was thinking about heading over between 12n-1p. Thoughts?

Angie

Doesn`t the cruise line transfer us if we booked hotel/air fare through them? I know there is a transfer voucher for hotel to ship in my docs. There isn`t one from the airport to the hotel so presume the hotel has a courtesy shuttle. We land at 10.30am so know we`ll be too early to check in....jean

We have a transfer from the hotel to the ship, but it doesn't give a time on ours. I guess the hotel will let us know. Maybe it is a set time. I am so excited I could sleep at the dock and be happy.

I cruised out of Pt. Canaveral last fall & we picked up Mears shuttle service from the airport about 11:00 am ( we had arrived 4 days early & returned to the airport to catch the shuttle), it takes about 45 minutes to travel to Pt. Canaveral from Orlando, the check-in was really quick & we had lunch on the ship.........aaaahh I can taste the Bread Pudding already ! Only 4 days,11 hrs., 31 mins., & 04 sec. till we leave, can't wait!
