Good Morning Everyone and Welcome :wave wolff12 and Mom. Glad you will be with us. I am really getting excited now that we a re growing. We definitely will plan a meet and greet as we get closer. We did this on the Grandeur of the Seas in May and we all had a ball; we even got together and bought a horse in the horse race ( there was about 18 of us). We are growing :cheers

Hope everyone had a good weekend. Carolyn and I are going to book Godfreys tour for St Thomas this week. It is $20 and about 6 hours. You stop in town first, tour the island and then he will drop you off at the beach Of choice for a couple of hours and return for you. He even dropped someone off at the new KMart according to the boards. Sounds like a deal. Anyone have any ideas on this.

By the way, I spent alot of time at the Jersey shore growing up (originally from NY) I still have cousins in the South Amboy, Lawrence Harbor area. We could walk to the beach, and do I have fond memories of Asbury Park and the bid ferris wheel..

Off to PT for my new hips and some shopping. No ladies not clothes today, just grocery shopping.

Back later

Till we all sail Barb

Good Morning Zud Gang, :wave With a name like that we may need colored arm bands :roll I got my reply from Godfrey tours in St Thomas and thought I would pass the particulars along to anyone interested.
carolyn and I have done St Johns and Trunk Bay, so we thought we should see the island. Godfrey will pick you up at the ship at 9, 10, or 11 for shopping downtown. The actual tour starts at noon from downtown in a safari type truck, bus whatever. He does about a 2 hour tour around ST T and then gives you the option of going to Coki, Magen, or Sapphire beach. He picks you up about 2 hours later and back to the ship. I is $20 at the end of the tour. People rave about Godfrey, so we are going with it for a little of everything. B)

By the way on the shore excursion board of HAL, the clamshell rental is up. Very unusual. $9.00 for clamshell, $209 for a cabana and $270 for cabana with butler. I booked a clamshell for C and I so we have shade and lounges. :]

Getting excited only 59 more days. For Elaine, Sany, and Erin, Bought a black embroidered jacket silk suit. Thought it would look great for formal night. Should have tried it on, the pants are huge and the jacket cut small. Guess it goes back. Sandy, do you think a lightweight velvet jacket would be okay since it will be Nov. I have one that really looks great over a long dress or palozzo pants. I really don't want to have to buy anything new in the formal line. Ed and I are retired and just do casual now.

I've been going on and on :gabby so I'll sign off

Back later and until we sail Barb

Your velvet jacket should be fine. It can be cool in the dining rooms at times. More ?????, just ask.
With the hurricane coming ( hopefully not our way) might not have any electric for a few days. We have some friends coming over from the East coast to stay with us for the duration. They are also going on the cruise ( Jim & Nancy). Will check in when I can.

Sandy, thanks for the info. Tell Jim and Nancy welcome to the Zud Gang. We will say a prayer that you are all okay, and everything remains standing. This has been a very scary year for hurricanes. Hope all goes well. Let us know how the four of you make out. Fingers and toes are crossed.

Counting down to FtL. Barb

Good Morning Zud Gang, We've been quiet this week and I miss you guys. We're getting closer and C and I are getting excited. Hope we don't lose HMC to Frances. Captain Hans keep the Zuiderdam safe for us. By the way HAL is doing good for her pax. Those losing a day by having to sail late get a 25% rebate on price and ship credit also. HAL is being really upstanding about the weather. :cheers

Caroline and I have just booked a cruise for Nov 1, 2005. We have truly become addicts. It is RCCL Jewel of the SEa out of Boston for 12 days repositioning stopping at Bermuda, San Juan, St Tom, Curacao, and Aruba. The best part is the price; cabins start at $799.00. That is less than $72 a day. The ship is brand new, and going out of Boston is a plus for me since I live here. Now we will have to fill in the gap between HAL and RCCL.;)

DH and I are going yard saling this AM so I am off :wave

Till we sail :] Barb

54 More days until we leave for this vacation! I am about to bust. This 3 day weekend is great, but I need some serious R&R time with no bathrooms to clean and no laundry to wash/dry/fold, etc.

Barb - I'm glad you had a successful shopping adventure and congrats on the 2nd booking. If I manage to not get sick on this cruise, we are going to try to arrange a family cruise and get both of our families together...that would be so much fun!

Well I guess I better get back to my cleaning before I run out of ambition....

Good Morning Zudsters Hope you are all safe.

Elaine, Carolyn tends toward quesy also, but we found a solution that is working well LOL Bonine over the counter is a drug called meclazine. I get a n Rx from my Dr for the exact same thing, 25mg of meclazine. We both take 1 the night :yawn before. We then take it for a couple of nights thereafter. When it got rough last May we took one each night. No side effects were felt. If it makes you sleepy like a dramamine would, you are going to go to bed anyway. This has worked well for allot of people. I researched the boards before our first cruise. Hope this helps.

Going to see Nines this afternood, so I better go dress. Everyone be safe.

Till we sail Barb :bounce

Thanks for the advice Barb...that is exactly what I intend to do. From reading these boards, it seem the key is prevention...not curing...so prevent I will do!! I will taking it two nights before we sail just to make sure it is in my system good!!!

I must be off and running, too. I am elbow deep in making Snickers Pie...YUM!!!

Good Morning Zud Gang, Sandy and Steve and Nancy and Jim, Hope you all fared okay. Don't know if this is reaching you, but if it is, let us know how you are. We are all concerned for your safety.

Elaine, I already got my Rx for the meclazine at a whopping $4 and change for 30 25mg each. That will take care of C and I for a couple of cruises or more. Always think positive!

Did some shopping yesterday with the 80% off sales. Got 2 long tank dresses for $6.00 each and a pair of capris for $6.00. I also got a sheer beaded poncho, really different and nice, no better than nice. Wasn't six tho, but it was $33 down from $78. I had to have it . Will probably wear over a black dress or black palozzos and tank for a formal outfit. I am just not the gown type, and not having kids can't do mother of a bride or groom.

We're getting closer and the excitement is building. Can't wait Sooooooooo :jump :jump :jump

Till we sail Barb

Good morning everyone. We did fine during Frances. Luckily she went Northwest once she finally came on shore. Our lights flickered a couple times, about 3 inches of rain & a little wind. Jim & Nancy ( stayed with us during storm) left earlier to return to their home in Melbourne Beach, they had some minor damage as far they know. We feel really lucky as we live in North Port which is close to where Charley came on shore ( serious damage 10 miles away, 15 miles =Punta Gorda where Charley came ashore) Catch everyone later. Sandy

I'm glad to hear that all is well with our Florida @ddicts. We are getting rain from Frances all day today here in NC...nothing compared to what FL saw!!!! The wind turned my umbrella inside out though.

Barb - I'm glad you got such good deals shopping. I am a self-proclaimed "Clearance Queen" ... while vacationing in Virginia Beach this summer I picked up the most adorable vests. One has sailboats and helms the other has ropes and anchors...I got them for $6.00 each! I was so excited!!

One day closer to sailing...

Good rainy Tuesday morning all, We are rainy today in the Boston area with the remnants of Frances expected to drop some rain this weekend. Elaine, you shop diva you. Good work. Sales are great and are loved by most. You did good. When we get to St Thomas try Mr Tablecloth. Ladies, the buys linens are wonderful I got 2 beauties last fall for my table, but got them for the extended table. I want to pick up some for the closed table this Nov. The prices are great. Carolyn and I are also going to hit Vendors Plaza in Downtown as the start of our Godfrey tour. They say there are many vendors like a flea market. Of course the stores are good too.

I'm off to the dentist. Back later.

To all of the ladies on the Zuid, I can't say enough positive things about shopping on eBay. I have bought and sold several thousand dollars worth of beautiful clothes and shoes. The great thing is that you can go through your own closet and find stuff that you do not wear anymore, or will never wear again (including shoes) and put them up for auction. As long as the items are in good condition, most likely someone will buy them. I have paid for many of my own new clothes by selling my old ones. Many of the items that I buy for myself are new with tags still on them, or are new shoes. If I buy something and it does not fit, I can usually always sell it again on eBay and get back what I paid for it, if not more! You will make more money (for your own shopping pleasure) by selling things around your home, as well as clothes and shoes, than you ever would in a yard sale. I am counting the days until we set sail. I just hope all goes well with the flight and our luggage. We still do not have a hotel booked, and Joe may have to send me on ahead of him if his schedule does not permit him to leave on the 28th. Cross your fingers and say a prayer for us.
