Mein Schiff 3 Cruise Canceled After Collision With Two Cargo Ships

TUI Cruises has canceled a 20-day Canary Islands voyage aboard Mein Schiff 3 after the cruise ship collided with two container vessels while departing Bremerhaven, Germany, on October 25, 2026.

The collision occurred around 5:30 p.m. local time during stormy conditions. According to German authorities, a powerful wind gust pushed the cruise ship toward two container vessels moored along the port’s Stromkaje.

The accident caused significant damage to Mein Schiff 3, including several lifeboats, their handling equipment, and portions of the ship’s exterior. One container ship also sustained substantial damage.

There were 2,428 passengers and 922 crew members aboard. Authorities reported no injuries or water entering the vessels.

Following an inspection, TUI Cruises confirmed that shipyard repairs would be necessary and canceled the Canary Islands sailing.

The ship’s return-to-service date remains uncertain, and investigators are examining the circumstances surrounding the collision.
