Norwegian Cruise Line‘s, Norwegian Prima, the first ship in its groundbreaking Prima Class, has arrived to the Port of Galveston in Texas for its first official season since her launch in 2022.
Norwegian Prima Begins First Full Season
This past week Norwegian Prima kicked off her inaugural season in the Lone Star State and settle into its new homeport of Galveston, Texas for the 2023 and 2024 cruise season. As one of NCL’s newest vessels, Norwegian Prima will offer round-trip, seven-day cruises to some of the most beautiful, tropical destinations including the Company’s resort-style island destination, Harvest Caye in Belize; Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico; and Roatán (Bay Islands), Honduras.
In addition, Norwegian Prima’s sister ship and newest vessel of the NCL fleet, Norwegian Viva, will homeport in Galveston, Texas for the first time ever from December 2025 to April 2026.

On the heels of winning three Cruise Critic Editors Pick Awards for Best Cruise Line for Spa, Specialty Dining and Solo Travelers, NCL’s award-winning Norwegian Prima accommodates 3,100 guests at double occupancy and comprises over 1,500 staterooms, 18 dining venues, and 17 bars and lounges among her 20 decks.

Norwegian Prima was the first ship in the NCL fleet to debut one-of-a-kind experiences including the Prima Speedway, the first three-level racetrack at sea; the Prima Theater & Club, a three-story transformational theater-nightclub; the Metropolitan Bar, the cruise industry’s first sustainable cocktail bar at sea; and Indulge Food Hall which offers 11 different cuisines including Q, a Texas-style BBQ.

The Prima Class ship also features the 44,000 square-foot, wrap-around outdoor walkway, Ocean Boulevard, boasting more spaces for guests to soak in the sun including infinity beach and infinity pools, as well as La Terrazza, the al fresco lounge area; The Concourse, the open-air sculpture garden; and Oceanwalk, a clear glass bridge that offers great photo opportunities.
