Cruise Addicts is heading to Basel, Switzerland to attend the naming ceremony of Viking River Cruises newest river ships this week. We are excited to bring you along with us as we attend the ceremony and a mini-cruise afterwards. Please follow me for live updates on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. Viking will be naming six new Viking Longships® which will sail the Rhine, Main and Danube Rivers, and Viking Hegrim which is inspired by the Longships and custom designed to sail Portugal’s Douro River.

We are excited to travel back to Europe and be aboard a Viking Longship on the Rhine River. During our visit we will be staying aboard the brand new Viking Einar. I’m looking forward to sharing many photos and videos with you. Here is where our mini-cruise will be taking us after the ceremony:

Wednesday, March 20
12:00 p.m. – Viking Einar sets sail for Strasbourg (Scenic Cruising remainder of the day)
Thursday, March 21
8:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m: Strasbourg, France (Tours & Buses available)
Friday, March 22
8:45 a.m. – 12:00 noon: Mannheim, Germany (Heidelberg walking tour (castle and city tour)
4:00pm: Arrive in Mainz, Germany.
Saturday, March 23
Disembarkation and return flight home.
