Activities Not To Be Missed On Your Next Cruise

Traveling the world is always at the top of our to-do list. Seeing all the sights, experiencing the wonders of the world, and experiencing new things are the best ways to spend those all-important holiday days. There’s nothing like exploring a new country to invoke a new lust for life.

However, seeing everything you want to see could take a bit of time. Flights and other forms of travel can be time-consuming, but there is a great way to see everything you want to see all at once.

Best activities to do on a cruise

Cruises can be a great way to explore a particular country or part of the world. Most of the traveling happens at night so you can wake up in a new place.

Check out the pool

Although the ocean might surround you for much of your time on a cruise, you rarely get to enjoy it. This might be a shame for most, but it’s more than made up for by the sheer number of pools most cruise ships have.

Of course, the pools will differ depending on the ship you’re traveling on, but they’re all going to give you the taste of relaxation that you’re after. There is usually a kid’s pool with slides and water features. And then the more grown up pool for adults to swim in or hang out whilst enjoying the water.

See what games there are in the arcade

When gaming at home, you might be on sites like BonusFinder Canada to get the best gaming deals. But there’s no need to game online on a cruise, as you’ll typically find a casino on board.

If you’re looking to while away a few hours before dinner or fancy a quick game before bed, you can always hop along to the casino. There are always many games to choose from, so you know you’ll be able to find something you enjoy.

There could also be a kid’s arcade that you can check out. Arcades aren’t just for kids; anyone can enjoy a game of air hockey or Mario Kart on a cruise! It’s a great way to get your favorite entertainment while on board a cruise ship.

Enjoy the entertainment

One of the best things about cruise ships is all the entertainment opportunities. There are shows on every night to keep you entertained in the evening. There are also opportunities to get involved with activities on a cruise ship during the day.

You could take a dancing lesson on deck or try out a water polo activity in the water. There are always numerous forms of entertainment to get involved with and keep you occupied at sea.

Many cruise ships will have shopping malls and cinema rooms that you can enjoy yourself in, too. If you get an overcast day or you’ve had your fill of the sun deck, you can cozy up and check out the newest releases.

Relax and unwind in the spa

While this might not apply to all cruise ships, most do have access to a spa. Nothing could be more relaxing than getting a mani-pedi or a massage while sailing out in the open ocean.

You don’t need to worry about your manicure chipping or your haircut not looking its best. Simply make an appointment at the spa and feel like yourself again.

And it’s not just for beauty treatments. A sauna or steam room has many health benefits – especially if you’ve had a glass of wine or two the previous evening!

Try out some water sports activities

Being out at sea and having access to pools means lots of room for water-based activities. Whether it’s something as small as a diving lesson or as big as learning to surf on the wave machine in the pool, there’s plenty of time to learn a new skill, so you might as well use it!

Plan your adventure for the next stop

Another great way to pass the time on a cruise is to plan your adventures once you get to the next destination. You don’t always get a lot of time at each stop, so it’s imperative to ensure you have a game plan to fit everything in.

Even small things like where the best restaurants are can be helpful when you’re making a plan. You might also want to know whether they shut for a siesta hour!

There are so many activities to try out on a cruise, but what’s at the top of your list?

How to Make Your Flight Experience Even Better by Being Nice to Airplane Personnel

Flying can sometimes be a stressful experience, with long lines, security checks, and the rush to make your flight on time. However, a simple yet often overlooked way to enhance your journey is to be nice to the airplane personnel. A friendly attitude not only makes their job easier but can also significantly improve your own travel experience. In this article, we’ll explore how courteous behavior can lead to a more pleasant flight and what to do if you encounter issues like delays, including information on flight compensation.

Imagine boarding a plane where everyone is stressed and tensions are high. Now imagine the same scenario, but this time, every interaction you have with the flight crew is met with a smile and a kind word. The difference is palpable. Being friendly to airplane personnel—be it the check-in agents, flight attendants, or pilots—can transform your journey from ordinary to exceptional. Not only does it foster a positive environment, but it can also lead to unexpected perks and better overall service.

      The Power of Politeness

      Airport
      Airport

When you approach the check-in counter or board the plane, a friendly greeting can set the tone for the entire flight. Flight personnel deal with hundreds of passengers daily, and a kind word or a smile can make a significant impact. Flight attendants are more likely to go the extra mile for polite and respectful passengers. Kindness can result in better service, whether it’s an extra blanket, a second drink, or assistance with a special request. A courteous passenger contributes to a more positive atmosphere on the plane. This not only benefits you but also your fellow travelers. A happier crew can lead to a more pleasant flight for everyone.

      Handling Flight Delays and Issues

      Airport
      Airport

Despite your best efforts to maintain a positive attitude, flight delays and cancellations can still occur. Here’s how to stay courteous and handle these situations effectively. It’s easy to become frustrated during delays, but staying calm and polite can make the situation more manageable. Airline staff are more likely to assist you promptly and efficiently if you remain composed. Familiarize yourself with your rights regarding flight compensation. Under EU regulations, you may be entitled to compensation if your flight is delayed by more than three hours or canceled. Depending on the flight distance and delay duration, this can range from €250 to €600.

Use Tools Like the Ryanair Compensation Calculator. If you’re flying with Ryanair and experience a delay, use the Ryanair compensation calculator on their website. This tool helps you determine the compensation you’re eligible for quickly and easily.

Being nice to airplane personnel can significantly enhance your flight experience. A little kindness goes a long way in creating a positive and pleasant journey for yourself and others. While delays and cancellations are sometimes unavoidable, handling these situations gracefully and understanding can make a world of difference. Remember, knowing your rights and utilizing tools like the flight compensation calculator ensures you are well-prepared to address any issues. By fostering a friendly and courteous attitude, you improve your travel experience and contribute to a more enjoyable atmosphere for everyone onboard.

An Epicurean Expedition Awaits aboard Atlas Ocean Voyages

Later this month, we will board Atlas Ocean Voyages, World Traveller in Rome, for a twelve-night Epicurean Expedition. Our culinary adventure will begin in Rome and end in Athens, Greece. Atlas Ocean Voyages offers an Intimate, small-ship experience aboard a Yacht that holds less than 200 passengers in an all-inclusive experience. When Atlas Ocean Voyages isn’t sailing in the Polar regions, its ships are often found in the Mediterranean, offering guests a unique culinary adventure.

We will visit unique islands and destinations that larger cruise ships can’t reach during this voyage. It will be a very destination-focused itinerary with only one sea day. Tours are not included in the cruise fare, but one free cultural immersion experience happens during the cruise.

Things We Are Looking Forward To

It’s always exciting to visit new places and experience a new cruise line. On this trip, we will be doing both. We are excited to visit multiple destinations in Italy, Greece, Spain, and France during a single voyage. The 12-Night Isles of the Mediterranean itinerary will be a bucket-list experience for us, as it visits such unique and beautiful places.

      Atlas Ocean Voyages

Atlas Ocean Voyages began operations in 2021 with a single Yacht and currently has three in operation and two more on order. All their vessels are polar-class expedition ships that sail in the Polar regions but can seamlessly sail the warmer Mediterranean and other parts of the World in luxury in the off-season. The line has partnered with L’OCCITANE en Provence for the first-ever luxury SeaSpa by L’OCCITANE at sea aboard its vessels.

      Intimate Comfort and Luxury

We look forward to the intimacy and comfort we first learned to enjoy aboard European river cruises. Although we are not yet onboard, we look forward to a similar experience and all-inclusive luxury aboard the World Traveller.

There is something comforting about not battling crowds and worrying about extra costs. Luxury can be defined in many different ways, and for us, this is something we genuinely enjoy. You can relax, take in the moments, and enjoy it all.

On smaller ships, I have found that people are much more personable, and you can find yourself having enjoyable conversations and making new friends. You also get to know the crew members and staff by name, greatly enhancing the overall experience.

Atlas Ocean Voyages prides itself on including many things other brands charge extra for Free:

      • One cultural immersion
      • Gourmet dining with ever-changing menus
      • Unlimited beverages, including fine wines, spirits, and craft beers
      • Open bars and lounges, including 24-hour bar service with specialty canapés

Cultural Expert Brian Liss, an art dealer and curator at Liss Gallery in Toronto, will also be on board.

      Our First Yacht Cruise Experience

At just shy of 10K gross tons, the World Traveller will be the smallest ocean cruise vessel we’ve ridden on. We will enjoy a 270 sq. ft. veranda stateroom with a traditional balcony.

We can’t think of a better way to see and experience this part of the World. The World Traveller features many comforts you would enjoy on a larger ship, such as a pool, hot tubs, spa, theatre, sauna, and gym, just for a more intimate experience.

      More To Come

Viking’s Newest Ocean Ship, Viking Vesta Floated Out

Viking has announced its newest ocean ship—the 998-guest Viking Vesta—was “floated out,” marking a major construction milestone and the first time the ship has touched water. Scheduled to debut in July 2025, the Viking Vesta will spend her inaugural season sailing voyages in the Mediterranean and in Northern Europe.

Viking® (NYSE: VIK) has announced its newest ocean ship, the Viking Vesta®, was “floated out,” marking a major construction milestone and the first time the ship has touched water. Classified as a small ship, as are all Viking ocean ships, the Viking Vestahas a gross tonnage of 54,300 tons, with 499 staterooms that can host 998 guests. The ship is scheduled to debut in July 2025 and will spend her inaugural season sailing itineraries in the Mediterranean and in Northern Europe.

      Viking Vesta Floated Out

“It is always a good day when a new ship meets water for the first time,” said Torstein Hagen, Chairman and CEO of Viking. “Over the last decade, we have built the world’s most elegant small ocean ships together with Fincantieri. As we prepare to welcome the Viking Vesta next summer, as well as her identical sister ship, the Viking Vela, this fall, we look forward to introducing even more curious travelers to the Viking way of exploration.”

The traditional float out ceremony took place at Fincantieri’s shipyard in Ancona and is significant because it denotes a ship moving into its final stage of construction. The float out of the Viking Vestabegan on July 4 at approximately 11:00 a.m. local time when the Viking team cut a cord that signaled water to flow into the ship’s building dock. Following a two-day process that will set the Viking Vesta afloat, she will then be moved to a nearby outfitting dock for final construction and interior build-out.

With a clear focus on creating experiences for The Thinking Person, Viking does not try to be all things to all people. How do We Buy the Best Knife?

Since knives are used frequently in the preparation of food, choosing the right one is crucial for anyone intent on using Knives Professionally, or yourself, if you are a lay cook. Having the right knife will benefit your culinary operations by simplifying functions, increasing effectiveness, and generally making a task more pleasant. Currently, there is new information emerging from different manufacturers with different types of blades, materials, brands, and designs of the trimmer, and it can be quite a daunting task for one to decide on the best trimmer for him or her. By following this guide, you will learn about the critical aspects you need to consider when purchasing the knife so that you settle for what you need depending on the cookery practice, material choices, and budget.

      What is the Best Knife?

The best knife has some features that when put in place enhance its performance, durability, and satisfaction from the users. First and foremost, the quality of the blade is of top importance, and it must be made from a stainless or high-carbon steel material as this enables sharpness, corrosion protection, and easy maintenance. Edge retention is another essential feature that looks at how long the blade maintains an edge when in frequent use. Any good knife should also have a comfortable and ergonomic handle made out of materials such as G-10, Micarta, or hardwoods to ensure that one does not lose grip even after a long period of use. Stability also lies in the proportions and a good knife must be perfectly weighted to split the weight of the blade and the handle to allow control and prevent the user’s hand from getting tired. Further, the size or length of the blade must also tailored to specific functions as well as tasks including chopping, slicing, and filleting. Last but not least, it is important to speak about the craft and construction of a knife since a knife made with a good assembly will certainly beat a bad one. These qualities create a knife that slices and dices superbly, while also being a reliable cutter that will last longer.

How do We Buy the Best Knife? | 19
How do We Buy the Best Knife? 27

Factors to Consider in Buying the Best Knife

There are a number of factors that must be taken into consideration to ensure that you obtain a knife that is good and has the potential to give you good service in the long run. Here are the key factors to consider:

      Blade Material

A sword’s construction is vital for its efficiency and endurance; the metal of the blade is the primary determinant. While refined carbon steel is best known for its sharpness and edge retention, high-quality stainless steel and high-carbon steel are also used widely because they do not corrode.

      Blade Edge

Blade thickness and the nature of the cutting edge (straight or staggered, of course, and with a phase) are significant for the efficiency of the knife in different applications. This is because a sharp edge significantly reduces the effort and accuracy needed in creating relatively clean cuts.

      Handle Material and Ergonomics

The handle must be made from strong material such as G-10 or Micarta, wood or rubber combination with ease to grip and hold the knife. Convenience design minimizes the use or demand placed on one’s muscles and makes it easier to manage the product.

      Balance and Weight

It may even be beneficial to consider knives with the right weight distribution so that there is more towards either the blade or the handle than the other way round so that users do not get fatigued easily in wielding their knives. Additionally, it should be pleasant and easy to hold in your hand like the knife you are using for the first time.

      Blade Shape and Size

It’s applicable that the size and shape of the blade should correspond to the requirements of the tool. Cutting operations vary and each of them requires a particular blade design namely chopping, slicing, and filleting. Try to summarize which kind of tasks you will be utilizing the knife mostly for.

      Edge Retention and Maintenance

The usefulness of a knife is also defined by the length of time in which it loses its sharpness, thus requiring honing. Furthermore, take into account the sharpness to which a knife easily sharpens after dulling and the frequency at which you are likely to need sharpening.

      Construction and Build Quality

In assessing the construction of a knife, preferences can be made for weight and balance as well as for full tang (the blade features a tang that runs through the handle). The production of this product and other parts that constitute the car requires maximum assembly and quality materials.

      Price and Value

Although choosing a muscle knife means sacrificing some frivolous characteristics and a democratic price, it is necessary to choose a knife that is worth the money spent. The choice of this tool is highly dependent on the characteristics that it has and the money that you are ready to spend on it.

Benefits of Buying the Best Knife

Acquiring the best knife is important because it covers all the needs for the consumers’ cooking or cutting needs they require. A good knife is long-lasting and will therefore not require sharpening very often hence reducing the chances of an accident. They are made of rugged materials that are not susceptible to rusting or getting worn out easily and therefore they will have a longer span of use. This is because an ideal knife must afford the user great ease holding it without stress on the hands and minimizes on such slicers and dicers leading to many mishaps. Having a proper knife selection on your hand will enhance the cooking experience, allow you to save money in the long term, and refrain from giving your best for a better outcome.

      Conclusion

It is critical to understand several essential factors that will help identify the ideal knife depending on the individual choice. Through the properties of blade material, sharpness of the edge, ergonomic handle grip, overall balance, weight, blade contour and size, edge integrity, ease of maintenance, quality of construction, cost, worth, purpose of use, brand image, and the guaranty, one is in a better position to make his or her desired choice. Purchasing a versatile but excellent quality knife meant to suit your needs will improve your cooking experience, giving you durability, effectiveness, and satisfaction for the time ahead. For a chef or a master in the kitchen, it is integral to ensure that they have the right knives for cutting.
