I FINALLY practiced what I preached and rebooked my flights to/from Seattle two weeks earlier than the original. I guess a pleasant Airline Fairy was looking over me as well because my fare, which was refundable, has gone down almost $92.00. I had a VERY pleasant and efficient Reservationist on the phone. I'm flying the oft-maligned US Airways (our "hometown carrier"), but I have no complaints how this was handled. AND, I was able to obtain a bulkhead-aisle seat which usually is only airport assignable.

Yippee!!!

Anyone looking at shore activities? All we know is that a visit to the Anchorage Zoo is on the list for a portion of our lengthy time in port. (By request of my son.) Probably on our own to Saxman Native Village in Ketchikan. I have a fear of heights, so no helicopter tours for us!

Lisa - if by Anchorage Zoo you are referring to the Wildlife Center near Anchorage, it is WONDERFUL. Not only will PizzaBoy enjoy it, I'm rather certain you and Neil will as well.

We're deciding between the two. My boss visited the Wildlife Center a couple of years ago and raved about it, as well. Then again, we may have time for both! (Don't tell PizzaBoy that Mom and Dad also love zoos, so this isn't just for him.)

The Anchorage Zoo is located at 4731 O'Malley Rd, which is on the out skirts town, admission is $12.00, and their web site is home | The Alaska Zoo. I have been told that the trip to the zoo is well worth the effort, additionally there is bus that runs from down town out to the zoo.
