Morning Cats!

It's my last day in charge before my new boss starts. I'd like to say that I am looking forward to having someone else to share the workload with, but I am not there yet. Thankfully, only 14 work days until Las Vegas....

So, did anyone get their stimulus check yet? Any ideas on how to spend it? Greg and I have no plans for ours yet. Maybe we'll use it to buy a tank of gas. We're at $3.75 a gallon here - I wish I worked closer to home.

Did you guys see the pizza promotion in Cleveland? I know we made the national news here for our 23-cent pizzas. If you didn't see the story, it was a promotion by Papa John's Pizza, as an apology for t-shirts that were printed by a franchise in DC labeling LeBron James as a Crybaby. The DC pizza franchises used the excuse that they didn't think we had Papa John's Pizza's here. Well, as soon as people saw the t-shirts on TV, people started saying they'd never buy a Papa John's pizza again. So, their plan to make good was to offer these pizzas. There were waits of up to 4 hours, with people in line for blocks near every store. We were planning to have pizza for lunch at work yesterday, but the Papa Jonn's near the hospital had a block long line at 10am, so we just did something else! The local tv crews had a chopper overhead showing everyone the line. I told Greg I'd wait in line for a max of about 20 minutes for a 23 cent pizza, but that's about my limit!

What's up with the rest of the Cats???

So is it safe to assume you will be calling in sick for 14 days ;D Hopefully everything is a smooth transition and you both get along in the work place. On Vegas, it's warming up, we haven't quite hit 100 yet, but don't be shocked if we are by the time you both venture out here.


Not sure either, probably pay the credit card and bank the rest. Although booking another cruise would be an idea as well. Gas prices are right around $3.49 here. I remember in years past you posting cheaper prices than the rest of us.

Surprisingly I didn't hear nothing about the pizza story. But if Lebron keeps playing like he has against Boston, Cleveland may just want to have shirts printed themselves.

The new county adminstrator has already fired the public safety director, has made about 6 commities, took this years raise away, but I think I like this guy..... he is straight up to the point and I like that. We will see what happends.
About diving...way cool.. hope you get good news than maybe we can book coco cay.

I keep an opened mind, I have been where you are with the job thing, I just did my job and ended up getting the job over time. Good luck and win in Vagas.

I hope everyone is doing well, not much new here... bus might be on the road this week... I have been having electrical problems and rear lights were not working.. no stop lights I don`t want to drive it that way.

Jim - I am trying to keep my chin up and keep a good attitude....let's see how that goes!

Did you all see that "My Time Dining" is rolling out fleet-wide on RCCL? They are saying that it's changing ship by ship through the Fall. I wonder if this will happen on our ship? I don't know what I think about this......I didn't think I would be a fan, but sometimes 8:30 seems awfully late to start dinner. I'd prefer around 7:00 if I had my choice. I'm going to look for more info this weekend.

Hey All!!! I haven't heard about the Papa John's Pizza thing! I don't think that I have ever had their pizza!!! I have heard of it though!

What is the "MY TIME DINING"? Is it eating at anytime???

Regarding the specialty restaurants....we can now book online in advance. Well, actually we can book for our cruise as of July 10th. Do we want to go there one night together? I know Greg and I might want a dinner for 2 there one night....but we would enjoy doing it as a group too. What do you guys think?

Hey All!!! Do you have a "HANDS-FREE" cellphone law in the states that you live in? In California on July 1st, a law is coming into effect stating that if you are driving in a car, you cannot be using your hand-held cellphone!

Jim - we really loved Chops too - is that your preference? We've not tried Portofino but it hasn't really had that much appeal to us. (We're definitely more meat and potatoes people!)

George, Regina, Tommy, what do you guys think? Barb, would you consider doing this with us too?

Chops sounds good, we had a great time last cruise. I'm not sure we can book as a group online though, we might have to wait until we get on the ship. Anyone have any idea on the menu;s for the dining room? A sea day / lacking menu day would be the best idea. Webshots usually has most of the menus on their web-site. We are only going to do Chops one night though. As hard as it may be for Anne to resist, she can dine with me throughout the remainder of the year and we also have Arrielle with us this time (no, she will not be going to Chops!).


Jim, I'll let you know tomorrow. Cococay is only 50', I'm hopeful I can at least do that one.

Good morning all,

Quick question, did everyone get their fuel charges refunded yet? I know they are supposed to refund for all bookings made prior to 11/16/07. Both of our cruises were made prior to that date, but we have only recieved one refund so far. I wrote to RCCL to see how this refund process works.

Sheree, hope the first day is going well. We noticed our stimulus check was deposited on Friday. For those who did an e-file straight to bank account, you will see your money first.

Hey Cats!!!!! It's been a long time, I have missed you guys.

Alot has been going on, I am not sure if I mentioned to you that I was doing a part time job as a tour director for jr and sr high school bands and choirs that come in from various states and perform at either disney or universal. Anyway, I started doing that the 1st weekend in April and almost every weekend since. The money is great but you are running from morning to night 1 or 2 of the days they are here. I have used muscles I did not know existed and I am no longer an insomniac...lol I am exhausted.. but it gets better

My sister went into the hospital on Monday for an abcess on her cyst, Dee went on vacation to Texas Thursday for her dads b-day, Julie went to her Mother's on Saturday morning for Mother's day and Julies Birthday and I was slammed with appointments on Saturday at the store by myself when my sister called to inform me they were releasing her to come get her...Thank goodness my friend Deb was available to get my sister.

I am so exhausted from the last 6 weeks that Julie and I are leaving for a 4 day cruise Thursday on the Inspiration....We thought about going to the beach for a few days but after calculating the cost, we decided on a cruise, that means no cooking or cleaning for me,,,,,All I have to do now is tell fun ship freddy to bring me my fun drink....Thank you Jesus.....The ship has been renovated, Dee and I had lunch on her a few months ago and the new serenity are is fantastic.....

George, Jim, Barb, Regina, Tommy, Dan, I am glad to hear things are going well for all of you....

Please confirm for me that you all are staying at the Radisson Resort by the port. I checked into getting a room there for the Saturday night you are all there so we can hang with you and not have to drive home. Let me know so I can book it.

Well, I have to get packing, Julie is coming home on Wednesday from her moms and we are celebrating her b-day. I have lots to get prepared. I will give you all an update when i return.......

Got the stimulus check last week. Used some of it to fix the air conditioner today as it died yesterday.

Yes we want to go to CHOPS, not Portifino.

Yes we are staying at the Raddison at the port on Saturday night.

Jim are you home over memorial day weekend? Looks like we may be camping in Inverness that weekend (UGH) and thought we'd look you up if you were around. Guess Tom will follow up with you on that.

Good morning Cris...long time no hear, but sounds like you are swamped. Have a great time on the cruise. Yes, we are all staying at the Radisson on Sat night, hope you all can make it. Would you or Dee have a portable DVD player that you can bring that night; I really need to use one that night. Glad to hear your sister is out of the hospital, is everything ok?

Regina, I can't imagine not having AC there. We went without AC last August for a week and we were miserable. Sounds like you put the money to good use.

On the topic of Chops, we need to decide which night we want to go on.
